It doesn't really matter. Idzik isn't playing some kind of waiting game so that he can start over again. This is his chance. He's got the GM job in a major market. The first year was even a bit of an uptrend. What serves him best is to continue that next year. He's got the chance to build a team the right way with a proven coach (AFC Championship Game back to back years and beats the Pats now and then) already at the helm. He just needs to do it the right way, and that doesn't involve throwing money at mid-tier and aging free agents looking to get paid on their last big deal. It's really kind of amazing that so many fans don't understand this. It's like a bright sign written in the sky for anybody who is really watching what is going on.
[quote="Falco21, post: 2965824, member: 16288"extent ion. extended the guy for another year with major incentives yet he wants to make him fail LOL[/quote] You just hit the nail on the head, a ONE year extention with major incentives that he won't hit. The Jets have one strength and one only, Dline. Let's see how good Decker is with the lowest rated qb in the league tossing the rock to him. As another poster said, you are the SAME everywhere else and weaker at CB. It's going to take 9 months, but you'll see see.
He could have just fired him last year. Lovie Smith got fired by the GM that was forced to retain him after going 10-6.
Its funny you say that because what really has been baffling me is these guys on these sports networks that are just completely clueless. I'm not talking about writers trying to grab headlines. I'm talking guys who are in discussion over the Jets just flat out saying we are making a huge mistake in the approach. The ONLY person I have heard that stood up for us was Herm Edwards. He was saying that quality long lasting teams are built through the draft and that is exactly what Idzik is doing. It's mind boggling. It really is
This just put me over the top, I'm gonna go away for a while and go get ready for spring clean up. Have a fun spring everyone, get out and enjoy some fresh air.
I think Idzik would get blame if season went to shit not Rex,But Rex has run out of lifelines if he fails this season even if it is Idziks fault its gonna be tough to bring him back.Everyones gonna look back to what Idzik did this year and he will get full blame because he fielded the team
For what ever its worth Rex seems to be on board with the gm. I still have questions but the only way I'm going to get answers is to take the wait and see protocol.
You mopes realize TonyIommi is a Pats fan, right? And given his username, likely one that is a middle aged white guy who still lives with his parents?
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap20...n-idzik-new-york-jets-could-trade-for-cb-help Interesting video, and it makes a lot of sense, doesn't it? Can't deny that... http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap20...n-idzik-new-york-jets-could-trade-for-cb-help
Yes because Jets fans aren't up in arms about this quiet FA period? This logically doesn't make sense. Idzik makes his own job harder but not trying to improve this year? Logically it doesn't make sense. And if he wanted to fire Rex, last year could have worked even with 8-8. The media would have been supportive of it too, as many were pushing for it before the season even started. He absolutely could used 3 missed playoff seasons but they kept him. Logically it makes no sense.
Go out and get yourself a boyfriend, girlfriend, or some lotion. You are wasting your time trolling here.
Sure he wants to win... He's going about this very poorly. You can rip the op, but there saying the same thing on nfl network. Now I know all you idzik believers know more than, analysts, former players, coaches and gms, so I'm sure you will easily discount what there saying as ignorant. Just letting it be known thst outside of all the football master minds on this board. The sentiment is running wild in nfl circles.
Because it is being said on the NFL network it is automatically true? Nobody is saying they know more than former players and coaches etc. they are just saying it logically doesn't make sense for Idzik to do what OP is accusing him of. Does Idzik want Rex gone? Maybe, nobody really knows but Idzik.
No it's not, but the ladder isn't true either that he's some genius with a master plan, which honestly that sentiment is only really expressed heavily here. I do take into account more what former coaches, players and gms think. My personal opinion is he's a train wreck in over his head. He's an inexperienced gm with to much control. Doesn't mean I'm correct. It's just how I feel
Only time will tell what he truly is. I'm not gonna label him a genius or a wreck until at least the 4th year, same thing I did with Sanchez.
