You're right but I'll assume that part of the reason not to re-sign him was based on the coaching staff's evaluation of him. He made it clear he wanted to come back. And if you read Rex's quotes about Cro there was nothing in them supportive of a return.
So now what is left for Idzik to fill in through trades, leftover free agents and the unchosen dregs of the draft?
I don't see us trading for any particular position, maybe we can trade someone away for a late rounder if it looks like we've got more than our share of something. If our rookie WR's are looking nice I wouldn't mind trading Nelson for a late rounder. I'm looking at our depth charts right now and I don't see anything that strikes me as a weakness. We have to let the WR and CB competition unfold, but the starters and backups are pretty well set at most other positions.
For me....I gotta give props to Jets'/Idzik/Ryan/Scouting Dept. Jets are really creating a real nice competitive team here for us Jets fans. I like what I'm seeing...draft & post-draft. I have coinfidence that Jets will address there 3 last remaining needs which are Punter, more overall speed on defense & 2 Edge Speed-rushers to add to rushers they already have.
