Garrard says Geno was receptive to the advice he was giving him. Also says Geno didn't exhibit any diva behavior.
the injury didn't have to have gotten worse. when the Jets signed him he wasn't actually playing on it. the exact same injury is going to feel a whole lot different when he is out there running drills. that is when you find out whether your body is up to it. not when you are sitting at home and the Jets give you a call and ask if you want to play again.
sanchez played on a collegiate all star team ... his usc team was stacked at every position, especially running back. he was aided immensely by those backs and the play action pass, as you can see from the highlights both of them had outstanding collegiate wide outs also, geno had years of tape on him that teams could use to break down his weaknesses ... sanchez did not
By many reports Sanchez does work hard and puts a time into improving. Unfortunately for him the effort isn't paying off during games when the pressure is coming.
hurray! average NFL QB with extremely short playing career of any significant note will mentor Smith. how the hell does that get you excited?
Sanchez was more impressive between those two clips. If you include his one year starting for USC, Sanchez has been in contention for championships 3 of his 5 years playing football.
Why is Sanchez's team an argument against him when it comes to his college film, but then when things don't go right for him it has nothing to do with his teammates?
I'll tell you what - that pocket for Sanchez wasn't nearly as clean as I had remembered, so maybe I misremembered that aspect. I don't recall seeing that specific highlight film. One thing that you can't judge from watching it is how long it took before the pocket broke down because you don't get the snap a lot of the time. Anyway, I will try and find what I was remembering tonight if I can. If not I'll concede that I was wrong on that. I do still see what I remember about him having more wide open receivers though.
where have i ever said that sanchez's teammates didnt play a role in his recent struggles? gtfoh with that shit they were comparing how geno and sanchez looked in their collegiate highlight tapes and i was providing prospective for people like you that are too daft to notice the differences
thats pretty selective. looking at pass by pass highlights of Geno and Mark instead of a brief grouping of his best plays is a better indicator of his play. never lookup supreme highlights or whatever, every player looks good when you put together their best plays. heres that "cleaner pocket" against Texas: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=fAOMUjoTOyI Its shows how he works under pressure.
Like Joe McKnight, And Patrick turner? Stacked? Why dont youtell us all the offensive skill position olayers not named Sanchez, starting in the NFL from that team.
Sanchez was great in college by your standards, and he's a turd in the NFL... so you're kind of contradicting yourself when you're arguing AGAINST a team being stacked by saying there's no one from that team starting in the NFL. College success doesn't always equate to NFL success. Thought that was evident for a solid 20 years now, but...
This is probably the best video so far that shows you how Geno may play against an NFL caliber defense. I still think it will be tougher, but this is the closest thing we've seen so far. And he handled himself pretty damn well. WAY better than Sanchez has under pressure in the pocket. His pocket presence dwarfs Sanchez's.
I never said he was great in college. Please stop making things up. Geno, had Tavon Austin.who did Mark have? How ever..Ill concede your point about Collegiate/NFL disparity, despite the fact that it totally undercuts yourGeno support...But I digress. Collegiate all star team? How many skill position players at USC were all american, or Senior Bowl standouts. Or drafted in the first three rounds? Now...maybe your definition of all star differs from mine, but .....
Hugh Douglas calls Garrard "Soft" for retiring: http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=9282104&categoryid=2378529
How about we wait and see how he fares, in camp against Rexs defense, before we send him to Canton. I think Smith can be a verygood player.but today....Sanchez remains the best QB on the roster.
