That was Sparano. He refused to throw to the backs.

hey wait a voice of reason.....arrgghhh.

seriously - to me sanchez is not going to improve measurably from what we have witnessed the last 2 years and i also think he wont return to the form he showed his first 2 years - part of that will be due to less talent around him.

this new offense demands accuracy within the numbers and timing. even with good protection and no pocket stress he really never showed this on a consistent enough basis.

No there goes our chance of getting rid of Sanchez. If Geno cant adapt to the NFL right away Mark Sanchez is once again given the job without any legitimate competition. More butfumbles and humiliation to come.

Plus having Greene whos hands are as soft as bricks doesn't help your confidence or completion %

He deserves to prove himself? He has been in this league for four years already... he has been one of the worst statistically and it's painful to watch this shit QB. He is no different then all the QB bust that has came into this league. It's just that Sanchez gets all the chances in the world because of Rex... even after mistake after mistake after mistake.

    Jil.

    2011.

    Jets offense overall 25th.

Red zone O ..2nd in the nfl. Sanchez scores 32 times,26 in the air,

    Jets Oc Schittenheimer.

Jets Red Zone coach. Tom Moore.

Same QB. Same cast, 2 coaches, two results.

You tell me...where does the problem lie? ( and the red zone leads to a more compressed defense)

You are underestimating how talented Geno Smith is. He has a better arm, is more accurate and is more athletic than Sanchez. He also has a history of rarely making bad decisions, which is a huge issue that Sancho has. Geno thrives in a short passing game and throws a terrific, accurate deep ball. Sounds like a morningwood WCO to me.

Rookies often find themselves swimming in the playbook. That is the only advantage Sanchez has. The minute Geno absorbs the playbook, it's game over for Sanchez unless Sanchez has a remarkable mental turn around which I believe is extremely unlikely.

The Jets want Geno behind center. Make no mistake about that.

So what you're saying is that Schotty called all the non redzone plays. Then Moore took over play calling in the redzone? Is that right?

Not the point I was making...but....

Hes never been asked to make decisions, and hes grotesquely inaccurate deep down the sidelines.
With the exception of Sanchez being better on the deep routes, their flaws are pretty much the same.

Someone posted that scouting article with the Seattle cutups for the Sherman int. The analysis, was about the same.

Im not saying I dont think Smith is going to be a good player, im saying sanchez, right now is getting a bad rap, and 2011 goes a long way toward proving that.

The Jets dont want Geno under center. Otherwise, he doesnt fall to 39.

The Jets want to win games, and improve the team.

No way they could tell Smith was falling to 39. They knew Garrard was an injury waiting to happen. They planned on Sanchez being under center.

Moore, was brought in specifically to coach the Rd Zone offense.

That not to say he was carrying the headset, but....thats why he was here.

And the two disparate results...reveal a pretty shocking result. If it was say 20 overall, and 15 overall that would be one thing.

25/2 and in the most difficult part of the field, is glaring.

You are completely inaccurate on both of those points. And Sanchez better on deep routes? LMFAO! You really are delusional - like tebot level delusional.

Watch some Geno Smith games and get back to me.

The big question is Rex has watched as Sanchez has cost Tannenbaum and numerous FO people their jobs. Will he allow him to do the same to him?

Sanchez's on field performance isn't why Tanny got fired. It was the extension and the draft.

Read any scouting report, or if possible, watch Mayocks cutups they showed at the combine.

Down the sideline, he tossing balls 4 yards oob with no defense.

He doesnt mention the deep routes, but that was the fixation after the combine.

LOL! if Sanchez developed anywhere close to a top 5 pick Tanny would not have been fired.

I've watched him play dude, I really don't think you have based on your comments. Please, at least watch some youtube cutups of games first. Here's the first 3 scouting reports I find when I google geno smith scouting report.

    http://www.nfldraftgeek.com/genosmithscoutingreport.html
    Pros
    • Has a big time arm with the ability to make all the throws
    • Throws a pristine deep ball; outstanding trajectory. Can throw it 50+
    • Extremely accurate on all throws, deep, intermediate, and short; always hits receivers in stride
    • Has the necessary height and bulk
    • Sharp and active feet in the pocket; steps into his throws and is never really flat footed
    • Can effectively throw on the run, off balance, and outside the pocket
    • Does a great job putting "Touch" on his throws, dropping it over defenders
    • Smart decision maker; does not force it
    • Not afraid to stand in the pocket and take a hit
    • Quick over-the-top release
    • Underrated athlete; 4.59 40. Can avoid the sack, and run for 1st downs when needed
    • High football IQ and film junkie. Outstanding work ethic and leadership

    Cons
    • Locks on to first read too often; very uncomfortable when No. 1 progression isn't open
    • Does not use his eyes well; telegraps a lot of passes
    • Throws the ball late frequently; used his arm strength to make up for it in college
    • No experience taking the ball out from center
    • NFL offense will be completely different from ttyle of offense he ran at West Virginia
    • Rarely faced much of a pass rush in college; needs to learn how to go through progressions quicker
    • Seems tentative to pull it down and run

    http://www.kffl.com/a.php/132992/#ixzz2TSn6ADlg
    Strengths

    • Strong arm - throws a catchable ball with a tight spiral within intermediate ranges
    • Adequate size at 6-foot-3, 220 pounds
    • Above-average mobility - throws a good ball on the move
    • Places the ball in position for yardage after the catch
    • Compact, over-the-top release
    • Eyes stay downfield in the face of a pass rush
    • Has experience adjusting his receivers at the line and seems to do a capable job of making defensive reads at the line
    • Displays the ability to manipulate safeties
    • Rarely makes dumb decisions with the ball - understands when a play is lost

    Weaknesses

    • Struggled to dig the Mountaineers out of big holes versus Kansas State and Texas Tech in 2012
    • Questionable mental toughness
    • Sometimes unloads too much heat on what should be touch passes
    • Inconsistent footwork
    • Has taken mostly every snap out of shotgun and pistol formations
    • Inflated statistical production based on West Virginia's high-flying system

    http://walterfootball.com/scoutingreport2013gsmith.php
    Strengths:
    • Displays of excellent accuracy
    • Intelligent
    • Hard worker
    • Puts in a lot of time in the film room
    • Decision-making
    • Excellent ball security
    • Rarely ever throws interceptions
    • Field vision
    • Accurate in college
    • Strong arm; can make all the throws
    • Quick-strike capabilities
    • Pushes the ball downfield
    • Athletic
    • Can make plays with his feet
    • Experienced and fits well in a West Coast offense
    • Improves the play of his teammates
    • Distributes the ball to a variety of weapons
    • Very good on touch passes
    • Confident
    • Hangs tough in the pocket
    • Durable
    • Scheme versatility

    Weaknesses:
    • Inconsistent accuracy
    • Can go bad for stretches
    • Has sulked on the sideline
    • Misses out on some plays he can make with his feet
    • May not be ready to start from day one

Sanchez doesn't throw a better deep ball than anyone, definitely not Geno Smith.
