Did nothing when he left westhoff. Just like our special teams have done nothing since westhoff left.
Nevermind a good team unit or season stats. we havent had a single exciting special teams play in any one game since Westhoff left. That's just crazy. Petty (Tom, not Bryce) used to say even the losers get lucky sometimes
I feel like that when it comes to the defense scoring. When was our last defensive touchdown? I think it was somewhere between 60 and 70 games ago. I wish I was joking but I'm not. How does some Defender not jump a rout sometime and get a pick-6? How does a random fumble not bounce into some Defenders hand in stride where he can run one back? That's mind-boggling to me.
The Denver loss with the Jets 70th straight game without a defensive touchdown. Last time they scored on defense, Antonio Allen intercepted some scrub named Tom Brady for TD. That was October of 2013. the next biggest drought was Dallas at only 25 but they had an INT touchdown back in November so who knows now, we might have 40 or 50 games on the closest competition
Not only Brad too. Westhoff hung around the organization for years after he left the sidelines but for some unknown reason, the Jets never gave him a job in a official capacity. Now when Westhoff is ready to get back on the sidelines, the most successful ST coach we've ever had is in another organization. Typical lack of vision once again. Did the Macc/Blowes regime even try to give Westhoff a real job as bad as our ST's have been? I dunno, just askin the question.
Nope that guy couldn't get Houston going why would we want him on the Jets. Plus he would probably keep that thrid string guy around. Pass on O'Brien.
Brad Smith was one of my favorite players. Rex didn't use him enough. He could throw, run and run back kickoff. Had some bad injuries but you never knew what he would do when he came in.
So, let me try to understand this. We have a HC who was a DC before we hired him, and we've drafted "D" with the first pick for 10 of the last 11 years (the only "O" pick was Sanchez in 2008). If you look at the top 3 picks for all 11 years 19 were defensive players. That all shows how defensive-centric this team has been, so there should be no shortage of talent, and yet the team's defense has gotten progressively worse under Bowles, who again, is supposed to be a defensive specialist. He has also stuck with Kacy Rodgers as his DC despite this trend. I don't know how much more proof the Johnson Boys need, but they should pull the plug on Bowles, and for my money, Macc too.
This will be an interesting 3 weeks till NY Eve Plus 10 thousand post ..but I bet half this Board wants more D haha Gut says if we lose out ..maybe shut out the... The Turk pays our Coach and maybe GM a visit...It will just stink to badly imo The comments and defeatism by the CS are the prelude to that song "Please release me let Me go" heh When Bowles got so happy at a 5 minute Presser recently I could see he is kinda losing it with that fist pump Can't take the Heat...??..get outa the Kitchen
Fire Bowles and Kacy Rodgers tonight. Promote Kevin Greene to DC and Karl Dorrell to interim head coach. Interview Dorrell for the job after the Patriots game, which satisfies the Rooney Rule. Then hop on a flight to Ann Arbor and make Jim Harbaugh an offer he can't refuse. Trade for Andrew Luck if he checks out, then sit back and let Jim build a champion.
its been 3 years since we had a successful onside kick,,,,pretty amazing stat,,,thats a long freaking time
He was a great role player.Great on ST, and could do Alittle of everything offensively. I actually liked how Rex used him..didn’t like how Tannenbaum let him walk to Buffalo. That was bad news for both sides
Sean Mcvay, 31, literally runs circles around the shit bag Bowles. His mind is years ahead of the Toilet Gump. Woody, you idiot. Another 4 wasted years.
Todd Bowles has driven me to the longest stretch of games not watched since I have been a fan. The Jets have had far worse teams in their short and long term history. It drives me absolutely freaking crazy some of the decisions he makes/doesn’t make as a head coach. I am tired of him and quite frankly, I will be very disappointed when he remains the coach (I fully expect them to keep him).
