It's actually a miracle he had the numbers he did this year considering how hideous Sanchez and the passing game was.

Sometimes I wonder what this franchise did for like 30 years. If I suit up tomorrow, I'd be on pace to break the rushing TD record or some shit in 5 years.

Free agency is a couple months away, why would thus get your hopes up?

Greene has been steady, but the bottom line is that Bilal basically does the same thing as Shonn... but for much cheaper. We need an explosive back to keep defenses honest, and right now we don't have that. Every penny counts this offseason, so I don't see how bringing back Shonn would be prudent.

Powell is basically the same back as Greene and is signed to a contract so I can't see us making him a priority.
We need a dramatic upgrade at this position so I'd rather take whatever $ we have to spend and get a much better back.

Shawn Greene is the best running back ever. Wasn't he on the team when we went to 2 AFC championship games? We should extend his contract like we did to Sanchez. Once we guarantee his money his confidence will go through the roof and he will be rushing for 2,000 plus a year. He's an Adrian Peterson in the rough he just needs more time to develop. I have a feeling we will win the Superbowl next year because of him.

Crack is a dangerous thing to mess with.

Greene is a good back, IMO, but Powell is even more of a north-south guy than Greene is. He drives better too, when they get their hands on him for the tackle.

Lighten up dude...isn't micromanaging the roster part of the fun of being a fan and going on message boards like this?

Because the previous title of the thread made it look like a done deal. I don't worry about trivialities like when free agency begins and crap like that...

Greene has no vision. He constantly runs into his own blockers. He rarely breaks a tackle. Always runs straight for the only defender in front of him and goes down on first contact. He only looks good when you bring him in fresh in the 4th and he can start bowling through tired defenders. So unless we are keeping him around for that role only, I don't want him to stay. He's not a feature back. I like his name though.

How can you miss it? Not even a Sanchez completion to a DB is that obvious.

Greene is a solid back. Not a #1 RB at all. If we resign him, it would have to be for less. That being said, I doubt he will return.

Greene is only a #1 back on a team that has a dangerous passing attack. He would thrive as the lead guy in Green Bay or Detroit to give them manageable 3rd down situations, but we need an explosive back to help keep defenses honest.

With all the 'real' holes our new GM will have to deal with (with no cap space) any player that's at least 'serviceable' stands a good chance of coming back....on the cheap.
