I had something of an epiphany today, while we do need a tall receiver I think we need to look a little further than simply height in general is really good, but I think what we need is someone who has big hands and a long wingspan I think we would want to consider those things over height not completely but they should still be considered
We need someone tall receivers that are going to be on the offensive. We do have receivers over the 6'0 mark but we use them mainly on specials.. We lack that one receiver that on certain plays they know and we know its going to this guy and they still can't stop it
As far as receivers, I'm not a huge fan of using a 1st Rd pick for a WR. Cotchery was a 4th rd pick, Coles was a 3rd rd pick (Should have been sooner, but the Dillard's incident dropped him) A couple of receivers that IMO would be a good fit for the Jets. Brian Robiskie, OSU........this kid has decent size and makes the tough catch. Has flown under the radar in 2008 since the arrival of Pryor. Pryor ran some option out of the backfield and it reduced the # catches to Robiskie. I met Robiskie this season at a Columbus High school Football game and he's a well spoken, smart individual & a nice kid. Captain of his team and 3.5 GPA, Coach's Son...........sounds like Mangini material to me. Rd 2 possibility, if we get the Saint's 2nd Rd pick. Mo Massaquoi, Georgia...........I like Massaquoi, he always seems to come up big when the Bulldogs need him. Decent size, could put on a few pounds, but could become a #2 receiver in the NFL. Possible late Rd 3 to mid 4th rd pick. Two players I wouldn't mind wearing the Jet's Green and White.
Brian Robiskie is the son of an NFL receivers coach - he knows what it takes. 6'3'' - 200lbs, pretty good size; needs to put on more muscle. A good possession receiver, too.
Michael Crabtree 6'3 215 TEXAS TECH Ramses Barden 6'6 230 CAL-POLY Greg Carr 6'6 220 FLORIDA STATE The above three, I am paying attention to. Especially Ramses Barden and Carr. I am not a believer of day 1 pick on WR. On the other hand, however, think about the possibility: if Jets get the tall, fast home-run threat like Randy Moss on the next draft, Jets can actually run the type of Spread formation Patriots uses. At split End is the newly drafted tall WR, and Cotchery - then in the slot is Keller and Coles. Now, with Leon anywhere he needs to be - slot or in the backfield - this will be a hard match up for anyone.
come on if it was a regular day you could complain it was a wet cold game and at that point in the game it was a poor coaching choice.. if he would of held onto the ball and went around for the score it would of been all good
