Lamar Jackson is my 4th ranked QB in this years draft. I wouldnt mind taking and a flyer on him, but hes not Pat Mahomes.
Yeah I mean I'm trying to look at some under-the-radar candidates. I just don't really see a plethora of candidates that would come be the HC here. iirc he was offered an interview for our OC job and the Eagles denied the request. Also I'm pretty sure McVay had one or two seasons as an OC before getting the Rams gig.
I understand that. I think the problem is that no really good candidate is ever going to be hired by the Johnsons. They are clueless, they want control even though they know dick about football or how to build a winning organization. IMO the situation is hopeless. We'd all be better off finding something else to do with our time rather than following the Jets.
Eh, I think Bowles deserves some more credit for somehow winning 10 games with Fitz and 5+ with McCown. That deserves credit just as much as Mac finding a few hidden gems. To be honest, one hasn't done their job better than the other, I truly believe that. The team stays competitive, just needs more in the talent department But I'm in agreement, next year is the telling year.
Todd Bowles is such a fucking idiot he smiles for the other team whenever they do something good. It happens consistently. "Oh man, there he goes. Gashing my defense for 40 yards. Boy, is this fun. It's such a nice day. God is good." - Todd Bowles He then proceeds to grin from ear to ear. I can't tell you how many times the other team scores or gets a turnover and they cut right to Bowles and this dumbass is smiling. If you haven't noticed this, watch the Gordon 39 yard screen pass highlight. It is at 4:34. Look at that fucking dumbass of a coach grinning while his defense gets embarrassed. What a disgrace.
I think it had to do with Mac being able to hang his hat on drafting a player that was universally ranked much higher and Bowles' affinity towards the position he once played. It was risk aversion more so than their belief in Hack. He wouldn't have too as Watson's skill set fits well with the WCO. Watson's, the prospect, had good feet, threw with anticipation and timing, and was mobile, all ideal tools for this offense. I don't believe that's necessary if the OC and QBC are doing their jobs. Probably not but I'd like to think we would draft a rookie QB that would leave him no choice.
I can just picture the conversation macc and toilet had after they knew the were safe Macc: alright Turd we're safe for next year time to tank the rest of the season Toliet: Sounds great it was getting stressful trying to win games lett me go grab Mcclown Toliet: Hey Josh do what you do best and go break something MClown: whew that was getting a little hairy I thought I was actually gunna make it a whole season. I'll just tell the line not to block for me so I can break something Toliet: good plan then we'll throw petty in and make sure we lose the rest of these games Hackensack: What about me? Toliet: who the fuck are you? Doesn't matter just go take up a spot on the bench I'm sure that will be fine Hacksack: it me Christian Toilet: oh yeah you were the one that caught the least amount of shrimp of over the summer, no way your Goin out there. In order to play on this team I need a certain amount of shrimp form each player better luck next year
With possibly upwards of 5-8 HC vacancies during the offseason, you may be right. We may have to look at more inexperienced candidates, if we're lucky enough that the Johnsons will fire Bowles. I'm not gonna hold my breath on that, however.
Here is a direct quote from Arians : "If you want to ask me about this fake news story that has come up -- I'm quoting the President now -- nothing has changed," Arians said, chuckling. "I don't know where this bull shit came from. Nothing has changed in the last month and a half, and everyone keeps asking me. "I'm getting a little tired of it, yeah," Arians said. "There will come a time and place when we decide what we are going to do. I guess Larry (Fitzgerald) has put up with this for like, eight years, so I guess I can put up with it for one." This is from his post game vs the Giants.
