Maybe he is motivated to score a TD, thats all

He gets screen passes instead of hand offs...lotsa open space to take off

Better utilization of skills by Gailey

I'm sorry but I think the standards we hold athletes to regarding PED'S is ridiculous. There are computer programmers in Silicon Valley dosing on acid as they write code. Dock and warehouse workers doing coke and speed just to get through the day. We hold football players up to a ridiculous standard of competition and none of their contracts are guaranteed. And we're surprised when they might want an edge?

Given Powell's gainz, I think everyone on the team should get a Jets PED dispenser for Christmas.

If we are throwing around possible PED users....I would offer up a slew of other players before Powell. Also, I think there are a lot of NFL players using PED's.

    1) Gronk
    2) Ninkovich
    ......

    ....
    333) Bilal Powell

Powell certainly could be on PEDs, but I remember reading an article during the offseason, preseason or TC where Powell spoke about really focusing on his burst this offseason. He spoke about who he worked with or what kind of exercise regimen he did or something to that effect. Of course, that could be a cover for the PEDs, but I think I remember seeing something like that with some other RBs, including CuMar. They worked more on flexibility, agility, burst, and got better in those areas as their career progressed.

If you think about it, there's a big difference between players when they come into the NFL and several years later into their NFL careers. Once they hit NFL weight rooms, training regimens, and are working year round to stay in tip top shape and don't have the distractions of classes, studying for exams, etc., they have more time and money to do specialized work. There have also been scientific advances in training and dietary regimens, in addition to those of the pharmaceutical variety.

He has a total of 389 rushes and 100 receptions in 5 years. That is less rushing attempts than Ivory had in 2 years. When you are used infrequently you tend to have energy to expend.

    Awesome thread.

Could have been a side note in the Bilal Powell Appreciation thread--but this one garners so much more attention.

    Well done there sparky.

Lol dumb thread. Powell is finally getting the opportunity to succeed. He's being put in the right positions and Gailey is utilizing him unlike previous coaches. He's always had the burst and hands. Brings that third dynamic to the passing game.
