Both were drafted to be the starters for their respective teams. It was only a question of when the coaches would decide to put them in. Neither of them had "good" seasons, according to the metrics most people use to judge Tebow, yet unlike many people, their coaches and FO understand that it takes young QBs some time, time which they have been given.
Why do u think people won't give Tebow time? I and everybody else who knows about football knows why. I would like to hear ur reason?
It's not you "and everyone else who knows football" for starters. So what is it you want ? What I think people's reasons are ??
How about accuracy? Throwing for 40.8% in his last 5 games with 3 of those games against piss-poor pass defenses is NOT acceptable for a starting QB, even for a rookie QB. It's NOT like Tebow was throwing on every down, either, because he had to. Willis McGahee is a pretty decent RB, and Denver was the leading rushing team IIRC. Still, Tebow couldn't complete even half his passes.
Now have saying all that. Why should a team give him a shot at being a starter? No QB who needs all that even gets drafted.
Actually, once you get past about the first 15 picks, most QBs taken thereafter will have to work all 4 of them. There's a reason why QB's like Luck and RG3 are talked about in terms such as "NFL READY". Try listening to, or reading stuff by some people that actually know about the draft and pay attention when they talk about QBs that need some time to develop. Guess what they are going to be developing ? Yep, those 4 things.
In my opinion, Tebow is pretty accurate. His problem is that he is inconsistent. That's not semantics, the two are vastly different. Why the distinction is significant ? Tebow has made changes to his throwing motion and his footwork. Problem is, he isn't consistent in his motion or his footwork. This inconsistency leads to him being inconsistent in his passing. See the distinction ?
College shows nothing about the skill levels of any player, and especially as a QB. (be sure to inform both Luck and RGIII about that) And that's why on NFL draft day, the teams just draw random names out of a hat..... :rofl2: * I don't care if it's McElroy that gets the starting job, just as long as he's earned it. No San/Tim war for me. Whatever it takes for the Jets to win is fine with me, because that's Tim's new team afterall. Just like I didn't root against 4-14 Orton while Tim was there. ============= Pass completion percentage depends on receivers (WR-TE-RB) who can: ~ Get off the bump at the line. ~ Run precise routes. ~ Adjust their routes as necessary during the play. ~ CATCH THE DAMN BALL WHEN IT HITS THEM IN BOTH HANDS! ~ And hopefully, if THEY are NFL Quality receivers, also catch a few that were not perfect throws. ~ I watched individual young Bronco receivers drop as many as 3 passes in a single game, and all of them usually dropped at least 1 in every game. The famous - infamous game where the Denver coaches only called 8 pass plays in the entire game, Tebow only got 2 completions out of it (25%), the receivers dropped 4 than hit them in the hands, otherwise it's 75%. And then maybe the coaches call more than just 8 pass plays. It also depends on the overall Offensive System. The game day play calling from the sidelines. The effective and consistent blocking by the OL. The receivers would have a decent day, but the OL would suck. The OL would have a decent day but the receivers had oven mittens on. But Tebow ALWAYS gets the blame for the losses. It was the genius of the coaching and the mighty defense that went 9-7 with Tebow in the game. Now explain why those same O&D players and coaches went 4-14 with 7-8 year Vet Orton in the game. When they lost half as many games over Tim's first 2 season 16 starts, it was crappy Tebow's fault, but when they won over twice as many games, it was because of anyone and everyone but Tebow. In 2011 the Bronco's dumped their 2010 #1 and #2 WR's before starting Tebow. hmy: Their #1 receiving RB was already out for the season injured. As soon as they hired Peyton, they went right out and hired a former Tebow/UF player, Vet WR Andre Caldwell. Explain that for me with something other than more contrived BS. I watched Joe Namath play as a rookie, and Elway, and Aikman, and all 3 Mannings, right up to Tebow. The stats and my own eyes tell me that Tim was better in his >>> first 16 starts. <<< Plus the forever left out 887 rushing yards with 12 more TD's. But it was that Donkey OL and not Tebow that took them to #1 in the NFL in rushing,,,, right? :breakdance: You are welcome to believe anything that your own delusional mind's voices and your lying eyes are telling you. (but the actual 'on the field' earned stats show you up for biased-haters that some of you really are) ============= Tim Tebow OWNS the SEC's All Time Pass Efficiency Rating with a 170.79 Rating with 88 TD's to just 16 Ints. Not Namath, none of the 3 Mannings, not Cutler, nor Stafford, and none of the many other SEC/NFL QB's. So of course, Tim going 9-7 with 29 TD's to just 15 Total Turnovers PROVES that he'll never be an NFL QB. And keep in mind that Tim has yet to have an off season that was not a lockout. He's played for 2 different HBC's and staffs. He's NEVER been the Season Starter before, instead coming in cold off the bench both years. But he's still a 9-7 winner, both in the regular season and with a Playoff win. Orton threw pretty passes for 60 something percent while going 4-14 and was an interception machine. Tebow went 9-7 with 17 TD's to 9 Ints,,,, PLUS 12 Rushing TD's to 6 LPF's (887 yds),,,, 29 TD's to 15 T-O's. So tell me, would you rather have a 61% 4-14 Orton or a 47% 9-7 Tebow? IF Tebow ever gets the right coaches and teammates, he can be a very successful NFL QB over time IMOHO. IF not, then he can fizzle out like so many before him, but he's already a 9-7 NFL QB WINNER for a 4-14 Loser Organization.
I was watching a little bit of the Yankees/Angels game on ESPN and that was strange to see Tebow and D-Wade there. I wasn't surprised by the boos but I don't think it was to show support of Sanchez. To me, it was more of "media, we are tired of you talking too much about Tebow" heat.
True but alot of fans are pissed that tebow is here!! I am a little annoyed I feel like we will be going backwards cause even if we win tebow will be called for and sooner or later he will start and that is when revis and mangold and other want to be traded cause this isnt Basketball and Bounce passes dont get you points
Well, in one of those last 3 games, he dropped 316 passing against the Steelers to get the win. Oh yeah, it was a playoff game too, remember what those are ??
