Totally disagree about Blue Jasmine --- Excellent movie. In fact I watched it again the next day.
Cate Blanchett could not have been any better than she was. Totally nailed it. Bobby Canavale - also excellent. Even Dice Clay played his role to perfection. I thought it was easily the best of all the BP nominees I watched (didn't see American Hustle).

I won't argue the performances weren't good; they were great. the movie went nowhere. what was supposed to be entertaining about it? what character were we supposed to be emotionally invested in and rooting for? her character is a delusional POS that gets what she deserves. is that what we are supposed to hope for?

Watched My Little Pony: Equestria Girls today. Sunset shimmer is a bitch. She learns about the power of friendship in the end though. 10/10 highly recommended.

    Saw it last night.

    Awful. Dreadful. Pointless and boring.

Put it this way, Scarlett Johansson is naked in it twice-NAKED-and it's still unwatchable.

Wanted to peel my own skin off.

Saw a terrific independent thriller a few weeks back, Blue Ruin. Dwight is living as a beach vagrant and learns that the criminal arrested for the murder of his parents is being released from prison. Very intense, violent and excellent suspense. Plus Eve Plumb makes a cameo.

I couldn't even get through it. Big Scarlet Johansson fan, but, the movie made no sense. Just watching it was like being injected with a powerful opiate, I went into a deep slumber and eventually turned it off.

The multiple vacant stares into the distance for 30 seconds at a time, the 4 second clips of some random dude, the mangling of the Engilsh language by the Scottish fuckards, the non comprehensible non sequiturs, the random driving and driving and driving, there has not been a movie I have been more pissed about watching since one of those fucking douchebag Wes Anderson movies.

    Scarlett Johannson. Naked.

    Brutal.

Couldn't agree with you more, particularly those protracted scenes of nothing that would drone on indefinitely, it was like a punishment; and the critics are eating it up.

Probably a couple big shot reviewers liked it and the others are too chicken shit to tell the truth, the old Emperors Clothing routine.

Have you seen Her. Scarlet Johansson's is the computer voice, she's really great. What guy wouldn't want Scarlet speaking out of their computer or smart phone?

    Two points.

If that were Scarlett Frantopolis no one would have ever seen it

I wouldn't watch Her if my nuts were on fire and Joaquin Phoenix had a bucket of water hovering above my scrotum.

    I actually like Johannson.

Phoenix is the worst fake faux-actor in the history of acting.

The Master was the worst movie I've seen in the last 5 years.

Phoenix I can take or leave, liked his brother better. I enjoyed the film.

I'm sorry I meant Joaquin. He sucks moose cock.

    Big fat fucking moose cock.

    Phoenix was 1000x the actor.

    The wrong brother killed himself.

Too lazy to look back to see if it was recommended here but I've heard good things about Oldboy. Korean movie from 2003. Any confirmations or is it just hype? Pretty sure it was remade but I'm going to assume the original is better.

I've not seen it but, it has a huge cult following. The remake was panned, what else is new?

Both the original and the remake suck. The original is one of those shitty movies film fans claim to love as a means to brand themselves as smarter movie fans than people who don't watch foreign films. If you don't like it it is because you don't understand it.

I recomend the original. Did not see the remake. Min-sik Choi is an amazing actor. He is also in a movie called I Saw The Devil. Highly recomended.

I know nothing of this particular film, but this post hurts my feelings nonetheless.
