Smith absolutely needs to break his terrible habit of going backwards to evade the pass rush. It turns regular sacks into 20 yard sacks or safeties or TDs for the other team.

With Hill and Holmes injured, I just don't see how the Jets will be able to beat the Falcons next week. Hopefully Holmes just took himself out of the game because it was not worth the risk, and hopefully Hill just had a concussion and will be able to play next week as well.

I know that there is a rookie learning curve, but is it usually anywhere near this bad? Tannehill had like a 75 QB rating his first year, Smith's is probably in the 30s or 40s at this point. I see things that make me thing he can be good, and then I also see things that make me think he will never have what it takes to be a starter, let alone a solid, average QB.

If he has another awful (3+ turnover) game like this against the Falcons, I want to see what Simms can do against the Steelers. Maybe he's just as bad or worse, but I'd rather see what we have there, unless Smith really rebounds next week.

I hope Idzik doesn't read this board. After we cut everyone, the only guy left on our team will be Braylon Edwards.
