I want LT back next season. He still has a lot of use left in this team. He did a lot for us this season and gives McKnight more time to come a long.
Yeah, I was talking about his improvement in another thread. The LT influence is clear and a big part of why I want him around is the assumption that he'll be working with Greene and McKnight during the non-team portion of the offseason, which will likely be a bit longer than usual.
"gaping" is a gross overstatement ... if it was a gaping hole he would have been able to make it 1 positive yard before the hole closed over the pile was the best option and its what he does best ... no excuse, imo
We are unquestionably the worst team in the league at executing a basic screen. It's truly comical how bad we are at it. How is it possible?
Wear LT down and save Greene for the playoffs. This is a good formula. Keep in mind that our running game was not the reason we lost.
I hope LT is actually the 3rd down back next year. Guy caught so many balls this year. Sprinkle in a little McKnight as well.
Our defense was...again. The D was also a major reason we won at Indy and at NE(just like at Cincy and at SD last year) BUT in the biggest game the D killed us again.
we had one yard rushing in the first half and were down 24-0 at that point ... id say the running game, amognst other things, was a big reason why we lost
The D allowed Pitt to control the clock in the first half. That was bigger than any rushing problems we had.
I like LT as much as the next guy but I'd rather he be cut and the team signs a young replacement for 20 cents on the dollar. Either that or McKnight.
LT is not making an outrageous amount of money, he wouldn't be clogging our cap when the cap returns.
Cutting LdT would save 2.5 million; not a gigantic amount but enough to sign two Pool/Hunter type players.
Understood, but 2+ million in cap savings helps if this team is looking to resign 10, 17, and 52. I'm thinking: LT Cro Taylor Thomas Ellis Harris? Will be gone.
you could look at it that way, or you could say the lack of a running game allowed the pitt O to stay in rhythm and control the clock all phases sucked that first half, none more than the others
The problem is Pitt got the ball and took almost the entire 1st qtr w/ it. That will cool off an opposing O.
