Fast players who haven't been able to break .500 in a longgggggggggggg time. When I last checked, "Fast" didn't win championships- except in our favorite smelly turd's little mind. 0-1 and Fast... 1-0 and Talented...
of course...everyone on the raider's roster has sub 4.3 speed. they are the fastest team in nfl and sporting history. this year the superbowl has been canceled and was replaced with the worlds fastest team contest. But since the raider were so fast they won the next 10 years straight.
Weren't the Raiders fast last year too? And the year before that, and the year before that, and the year before that.....
I guess Seymour couldn't think of a single other complimentary remark to make about the Oakland defense so he said they were fast.
"we draft fast, we play fast, we lose fast" the new raiders moniker soon Richard Seymour will be saying "I havent been around a team thats so fast! With excuses as to why this ships sinking."
Being serious for a moment (tough thing to do in a Raiders thread) the Raiders played better then most people thought they would in the opener. They got really lucky to draft Murphy (I went on about Murphy for a month on TGG and very few people wanted him, he was a steal in rd 4) but all the other recievers they have really suck and this is why they still have problems on O (DHB total failure). Russell isn't the best QB in this league and never will be but a reliable WR would be his best friend... On D Bringing in Seymour really helped, not only because he is a good player but also because he is going to kick everyone's asses in the locker room and thats what the players in Oakland need. They need to bring in guys from winning organizations to kick their asses and show them how it's done. Saying your defense is fast means POTENTIALLY they can be very good... but potential means nothing in the NFL, real production is all that matters...
That speed comes in handy when chasing down RBs from behind. ^ I agree about Murphy, I wanted him in the mid-rounds as well.
All the same, the Raiders looked pretty good on Monday. Seymour does give them some much needed leadership as the article stated, but if they continue to lose, Seymour's presence will wear off. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, and pick them to beat KC. A long ways from being a playoff team though, although it helps when you play KC and DEN twice.
They're definitely a fast team, so his right about that, but then again, they should be, that's what Al Davis looks for in every player he drafts.
all they need to do is trade for VY. they will still have two bust QB's drafted in the top 3, but at least one of them will be fast.
I like how Jeaux came in, posted this and bounced. It's gonna be a short season for Jeaux. Too bad. He's usually pretty funny with the nonsense he writes.
