Never use a champ reference without the proper usage of ! Disappointing! ! And every once in a while, you have to go because your arthritic fingers slipped! Come back after U go sit in the corner of shame!
It's Ken O'Brien was 0/10 for bringing the VLT to the NYJs! On some days it's the SB but with COVID-21 it's hard to know what day that is so U get a free pass this time!
A lot of people are forgetting what it felt like to have a QB on the field that made you think you were going to win that day. Ken O'Brien was the first QB in my adult life that made me feel like the Jets had a real chance day in and day out. The failures on that team were not his, they were the Devil's for forcing the Jets to live up to Joe Willie's promise.
Hope was certainly in the air back then. Far more than it has been before JD arrived here to set things straight again. I REALLY enjoyed that Royal Ass Kickin.
You're taking this waay too seriously, waay too personally and yr missing the boat as well. . No one's crucifying Kenny O'Brien here. . O'B was a beautiful passer and a class act. . Back to football: .if you recall, KO'B also had what was termed "happy feet" (could get antsy) and as previously mentioned (@jetophile I think) he could also be guilty of hanging onto the ball too long. . Marino's Namath-like throwing motion on the other hand was "quick release-efficient" and one which would've kept O'B's "62 sack" total down. Marino was stupidly passed over by teams because of "cokehead" rumors but no matter: . check out the end of the Pitt-Georgia Sugar Bowl. . . "X" factor personified (and what an arm). . Kenny O'Brien was a very nice passer and a likeable guy as well (had the pleasure of meeting him in ironically, Miami). . Marino was a 9x Pro Bowl Hall of Famer. .Paraphrasing Michael Corleone, .you're taking this way too serious Sonny. . .Don't be a tosser. .
Nope, it is the internet, your own post has probably taken it way more seriously than me. It is a game, my signature has been like that for a long while, had GASE out for a bit but went back to my original one before this thread started btw and is joke hence the fact it says Ken O'Brien and not K'OB, tosser lol BTW as an Englishman the term happy feet in 1984 meant absolutely zero to me, neither did holding the ball too long, all the way back then all we over here were interested in is touchdowns and big passing plays or running plays and I am going to be a little honest with you, it pretty much still is Also, people have crucified O'Brien in general for as long as I remember but this thread bar one person has been a pleasant surprise, better than the last time he was brought up, now that was super serious.
Kurt. My memories to a T. A few years back I saw O'Brien here in LA at a HS football game. He was assistant football coach for one of the best private HS in the area. I couldn't help but stare at him on the sidelines as he warmed up the WR. He was still throwing that beautiful long spiral ball we got so accustomed to see and love every weekend. With a better offensive line back then he could have been right at the top of the QB class. Those were great days of NY Jets football. Bring them back Sam, we desperately need them.
That offensive team was stacked WR Al Toon WR Wesley Walker HB Freeman McNeil HB Johnny Hector QB Ken O'Brien TE Mickey Shuler LT Marvin Powell LG Randy Rasmussen C Joe Fields RG Dan Alexander RT Chris Ward But we had the worst Coach ever Joe walton
Thats an amazing story. Thanks for sharing.Hes the first player i ever loved..When ever i see him on TV or hear stories like this im taken back to how much of a hero he was for me. If you dont mind me asking what HS did you see him at?
