It was a perfect storm of a great arm, a shitty O-Line, but never being able to break the bad habit of holding onto the ball too long and taking the sack. I feel like my brain is being boiled in a sauce pot just thinking about all the games the Jets could have won if he just made different decisions. Then again, who am I kidding. The Jets would have managed to Jet in a different way. I don't know, maybe if my pain was mixed up a little bit it would have broken up the monotony. Hmm, The Monotony of Pain, great name for a band. I hear they're opening for The Queen of Shit and Mediocrity: me. As painful as some years were - which was most of them - there are ton of memories that I wouldn't trade for anything. The memories are whats it's all about. Father/Daughter thing, my first Jets game was in 1971. I really miss my Daddy. Following that, after he died, our incredibly great, fantastically absurd, and indescribable tailgate that was headed into year 16 when Woody Johnson decided to take a giant shit on it. It disbanded, what else. Fuck you, Woody.
I give credit where credit is due, but I'm glad Marino holds the distinction of being in the HOF without a ring. It's a salve, at least. Fuck you, Shula. Hell, fuck ya both.
Well, who would ever believe you of all people would pick up on a negative and remember that above all the outstanding things he did during his 25,000 yards career.
I often wonder why you are still on here, in some ways I just wish you'd fuck off you miserable old c*nt. The stuff you type, like the stuff quoted, is utterly pathetic and makes you look like a dick.
I would love it if Jets won 12 games a year every year since I became a fan. Unfortunately that’s not the case but I had some good memories from some fun games. Champ, I don’t take sports seriously, it’s just a distraction for me to kill time. if Jets win 5 straight SB my approach would not change a bit. I would be happy for my fellow Jet fans though.
I can remember when the Jets were playing Atlanta in 1986 and built a 28-0 lead Don Criqui and Bob Trumpy pondering whether the Jets should take O’Brien out and insert Ryan to prevent O’Brien getting hurt in a blowout - the Jets were on their way to a 9-1 record. Criqui then says matter of factly something like No - keep Kenny in they don’t want to get their back up QB injured either....it was so ridiculous we all laughed out loud .... EDIT: See Matt Robinson's O'Brien picture below - this was the game.
@The Dark Knight Ken was smart/tough/accurate/had a great arm, but Ken's biggest problem besides not being Dan marino was Joe Walton who forced him into all those sacks by telling him to hold the ball and don't throw interceptions, he was very good.....stupid jets signed Bummer Esiason and gave him Ken's #7 at the press conference w/o even cutting Ken yet, no respect
Not to be a negative nancy.. or in our case a negative champy. But Ken O is proff great receivers don't protect the QBs as well as o line. Glad we drafted Becton. Now we need some great receivers though
Haha, c'mon. Did you forget your Metamucil this morning? Expect Brook! to completely ignore that. One good deserves another, so !
