Well, isn't that cheating too? After all, the reason the Patriots won all those Super Bowls is because they videotaped all those signals and made more plays than anyone else? The Jets must have been doing something right when they did that with Favre. Oh wait....they didn't even make the playoffs after starting out 8-3. Turns out the Jets will always fold when the games get important. Can't wait until Sunday.

I grew up in CT. There were pats fans then, just alot less. the folks that used to be cowboys fans became pats fans as soon as the boys started sucking and the pats started getting good. 75% of the pats fans in CT are complete frontrunners. F the pats.

I will concede it is cheating if you can come up with a logical reason for how it would give the Jets an advantage to leave him off the report? He started every game, and he wasnt receiving treatment for it. Yes he tore the muscle, but everybody within the organization knew he was playing with it. I still fail to see the reasoning behind the fine, much less how it can be misconstrued as cheating, but whatever.

No kidding Einstein, because they continued the practice after the memo. No team was punished prior to the league sending out the memo. If only the Pats were doing it, you would think only the Pats would have been warned to stop in the memo.

I don't like what BB did. I was ticked off. I just laugh at other fans who are using this as an excuse for every game they lost to the Pats.

Hmmm.... I've heard of post traumatic stress disorder, but requiring therapy because your aluminum boys got defeated by the Pats? A little fragile between the ears aren't you? I means spending your time on a Jets site with a signature devoted to the Pats... Do you think that's normal? Get over it girl.

That's the beauty of it. Fans now have that as a bonafied excuse and it can never be disproven. The same with all of your superbowls. They are now all illegitimate. You should be pissed.

The Pats weren't better than St. Louis they had their signals and barely beat them. They were slapped around in the second half by Carolina and Philadelphia played them tough as nails. Did getting an edge by cheating help them win 3 SB's? Did getting an edge help them beat Oakland to get to a SB? Did getting an edge have something to do with Manning choking against them and after they were caught ripping them up?

Pats are a powerhouse team but the Pats also cheated to get an edge. Every week in the NFL a little edge means something. Why was the evidence burned? Why such a harsh penalty? Why the cover up?

The President of Iran probably won the election without stuffing the ballot boxes.

Hey ginger, the answer to the bolded question is a resounding YES. I know you probably live in a beer-addled, chowder-smelling vacuum of Bostonized stupidity for most of your life, but I live in an area packed with military people who root for the entire spectrum of football fans, and whenever the subject of the Pasts raises it's ugly head, the first response I always hear from fans of other teams is 'Cheaters'.

Imagine. That phantom first round pick. Maybe it could have yielded an impact player that could have made a difference last season and given them that EDGE to win the division.

I like to think the Pats would have drafted Dustin Keller. :metal:

Well, to be fair, if teams knew Favre was hurt, they might've tried to make him throw more. Umm, wait . . .

All NFL fans know that the Pats and billy cheated to win. i can't even believe this is still being discussed. its just a part of NFL history at this point, right there with vince lombardi, joe namath, the immaculate reception, the catch, and then spygate.

any misrepresentation about farvre's bicepts tendon was screwing the bettors and oddsmakers. in other words jets management was screwing jets fans betting on the jets. that to me is what is interesting about this wrist slap by the nfl: it shows that the nfl realizes how important gambling is to the nfl.

Boiling it down for the trolls

Only the Pats* were caught and punished for cheating after the 2006 memo. Here's the taint on the Pats* "Championships." All the rest is just static:

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3400028

Belichick acknowledged that he violated NFL rules prohibiting filming opponents signals but insisted there was no intent to hide what he was doing. (In other words, I cheated out in the open, so it was ok)

"I made a mistake," he said in the interview. "I was wrong. I was wrong."

That rationale has already been rejected by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, who fined the coach $500,000 and docked the Patriots $250,000 and its first-round draft pick. (Goodell concludes Belly's a fucking liar and levies the harshest punishment in the history of the league.)

"I didn't accept Bill Belichick's explanation for what happened," Goodell said Tuesday, "and I still don't to this day." (Belly is a scumbag liar who cheated, says the Commish.)

End of story. Pats = Cheaters. Everyone who follows the league knows it, and if you ask casual fans, the first thing that they say about the pats* is: "They were the team that cheated, right?" Yes they are the team that cheated.

Google results for "Patriots Cheaters": Results 1 - 10 of about 15,000,000 for Patriots Cheaters. (0.49 seconds)

What defeat that meant anything are you talking about ? Seems to me that the Steelers are reigning Super Bowl Champs ... With a whole lot more history and rings than the Patsies ....

I'm pretty sure that the Patsies were on the GOLF course after the final week of the regular season

If the team you are playing knows your offensive calls wouldn't it be tough for a rookie quarterback? Ben wins 13 in a row during the season but becomes less the ordinary in the playoffs? Hmmmm!

You would wire a defensive back because the chance of injury is a whole lot less then an interior lineman or linebacker.

Have you addressed why Hines Ward would say it "was like they knew our plays?" Very rare for a player of his caliber to say something like this. Pro Bowl player and Super Bowl MVP don't make statements like that because they got beat.

So what the Pats had their #1 draft choice taken away. Ask the Steelers if they would give up a #1 draft choice for winning 2 more Super Bowls. I bet the answer is yes. Or how about asking the Rams, Panthers or Eagles if they would give up their number # 1 pick for winning the Super Bowl. Great the Pats were punished but where is the compensation for the teams that lost to them because of the cheating or the coaches or players that lost jobs because of the cheating? Keep trying to sugarcoat the fact that your coach and organization sucks.
