This is a dumb mentality that runs rampant here. Just because you are critical of negativity doesn't mean you are a homer. I mean literally just yesterday I said in another thread that I doubt Bowles as a head coach. So your theory is shit.
I understand your sentiment, having been a Jets fan for now 55+ years, and have considered quitting too but have yet to do so. Maybe this year will be my last, dunno. What you've decided to do for you is fine, but respect that everyone here is an adult and can decide for themselves whether or not to give up on them. If people get enjoyment from rooting for them, despite being disappointed year after year, then that's their choice, and mocking them for it is out of line. Enjoy your "retirement".

Plenty of posters have taken a break this season or not taken the team as seriously. It's absolutely a fan thing, sometimes you make yourself less invested in the team. It has nothing to do with having deep rooted problems of any other sort.
ive been a fan since the early 80s so a little bit longer than you. i loved guys like freeman mcneil, al toon, mickey shuler. I have lost interest over the past 5 or 6 years, my son started playing football and i would much rather watch 9 year olds play than the jets at this point in my life. i am tired as you are of poor coaches, which we have had nothing but since bill parcells. this past week has been the first week i have been really annoyed with the team, the idiot decision to continue on with a coach who is blatantly not good and will never lead the team to a superbowl is simply infuriating. watching a team that doesnt care last year and is not any good this year is silly. spending your money to do it in order to line the pockets of a shit bag owner is idiocy. i saw that quite some time ago and stopped going to games. i will go every few years these days if the price and game is right. otherwise they can eat a dick and arent going to see a shiny penny of mine. these guys are useless and this owner will never win because he has no idea how to run a organization. so i dont blame you man, those who call him names and say what a horrible fan he is will say it as they spend thousands a year supporting a guy whose an asshole and fucked this entire fanbase with that shithole stadium and cockamamie psls.
theres tons of difference. they are kids who are playing only for the love of the game, there are kids that are really good and kids that are not. the games are interesting an fun to watch. they actually make plays. they actually score touchdowns. the nfl is all about who spends the most hours preparing for what the other guy is going to do, kids just play.
