The Like system needs to go. It's a perverse by-product of the worst aspects of social media and it is proven to have ill psychological effects for people, including social media addiction. I'd gamble there are people on this forum who are so obsessed with it that they subscribe to VPN services just to create false accounts to like their own posts. It's an epidemic. I would also argue that it has an adverse affect on the post volume of the forum. How many people have just clicked Like because it's easier than typing a response? Likes are bad. Lay off the dopamine, folks. Ban the Like System on TGG.
While I agree with your post, sometimes it saves me from duplicating the same thoughts in a specific thread. 8 likes equals the reduction of 8 similar thoughts, and members can actually type responses on other threads that merit more conversation. Just my opinion of course.
If by banned, you mean reduced to a Level 1 and cast out to the courtyard with the rest of the subhuman scum, no?

I think this thread was a ploy to get likes, trying to catch ncjet in the "like" statistic. I will admit to hitting the "like" button because I was too lazy or maybe too intellectually challenged to reply to a post.

I think we have all seen a few peons bragging about their like count. Peons was going to be people but peons is more fitting. Autocorrect actually worked.
