I can't believe some of the BS I'm reading after this game!

No, I'm not even referring to you when I say "people". You would have to assign that to yourself. While I guess it isn't much different than other losses people are just completely overreacting. We played a pretty good game and I can't really point out a time that if we had a few other things go our way we could have dominated them. While we played them close last year it was almost a wash considering how bad we were. While beating them Sunday would have been nice, the Pats are the Super Bowl champs and have yet to lose a game. Put that into perspective for the last several years and they haven't had those things going for them. It's a loss but an understandable one. The sky is definitely not falling. Anyone that thinks we should pride ourselves cause we gained respect from the Pats is insane. Jets fans should never care what the Pats think. Screw that entire franchise.

I'm sure you just caused an incompletion down the right sideline to Marshall. Please stop before we are doomed to defeat.

losing because you just got flat outplayed is easier to accept

losing because you got outcoached, or being left wondering what would happen if you didnt play super conservative is very tough to deal with

fitz was excellent on sunday. and he doesnt need to throw the ball 30+ yards to be effective, as we have seen.

if we bring in geno and he heaves the hail mary do we really feel better losing when it inevitably falls incomplete?

not having a qb to throw hail marys is such a non-issue. there are what, 4 times a year you may need to do that? throw geno ro petty inf or those end of halg/game hail marys if need be.

otherwise, our 2 best offensive players are WR's who excel on 8-15 yard routes and both have had outstanding seasons/chemistry so far with fitz

for me it was more about bowles/CS approach in key moments.

end of the first half, we went conservative and decided to forgo being aggressive to score because we didnt want to give brady the ball back.

3rd and 17, instead of sending pressure, making them block us, and beat us on a run after the catch, we played it soft and let brady have time

to me, we played a bit scared. that has nothing to do with pats coaching/belicheck and everything to do with our coaches being tentative to be aggressive in key spots

Conservative yes....scared no. When Pryor left the game the D played conservative. That I'll give you.
On one of the Pats 3rd down and ten the adjustment by Bowles never got relayed to the field causing a first down. Followed by two screw ups, 3rd and 17 were Harris was totally out of position, as was our Safety on the TD. On both cases we probably should have taken at least one or two backers out for a DB.

This is correct. Bowles had to adjust his game plan for the players on the field. It didn't work, mainly because it was Brady and Gronk, but it probably would have against most offenses.

As much as I hate the Patriots, they are a completely different animal than pretty much any other team in the league. Built well and execute well, LaFell and Broken Pinky Edelcunt notwithstanding.

we should have blitzed. if you give brady time, he is going to beat you 9 times out of 10

us not getting the right play onto the field doesnt help the CS case either

we werent playing "most offenses" we were playing the pats, and bowles was aware of our opponent and should have adjusted accordingly instead of playing terrified

For me Bowles and his staff have been excellent all season - I loved his comments about losing and focus on what is important
“We should be upset we lost,” Bowles said. “You show me a good loser, I’ll show you a loser. We’re going to stew over it. We’re going to stew over it for a night. Next day, we’re going to get ready for Oakland.”
    - in a 16 game season where 10-6 or 11-5 gets you to the playoffs he won't rest til we are there

I totally agree with other posters who highlighted the fact that in the off season most of us hoped that the Jets MIGHT have a chance at a wild card place - few thought we would be 4-2 and with our fate in our own hands. I did not see a single serious post that had us going 15-1 and winning it all - lets support the team and trust in what Bowles and the GM are installing.

“For us not to execute is tough, especially against a team like that,” Colon said. “You know they’re going to rally and make the plays they need to make. You can’t leave points out there. You can’t even leave plays out there. It’s a learning lesson. When you go against the Patriots, a team like that, when you have the chance to put the knife in them you have to do so. If not, they’re going to turn around and do it to you. That’s what happened.”

A lot more mature than recent years and for me a reason to look to the future with expectations not trepidation

Miami was never in the game last night. The Jets otoh took them to the mat and made them earn the win. That should be enough for all the doubters out there. Just wait for the rematch.
