This thread was also right on the mark after week 1 and week 2, and would have been on the mark after the Pats game in 2008. Things change over the course of a season and hopes get dashed by the reality of a very violent game. Injuries are reality. Which is why depth is a MUST for teams that want to contend.

I think that if we shift for a 4-man front, Devito will produce well in the role of starting DT - my concern is with Pouha, who basically sucks ass. That guy got rolled over more than a few times last night.

Schottenheimer is too much of an arrogant ass to go with a run-first mentality. He's fighting it tooth and nail, no matter how many times Rex tells the press that this is a ground and pound team. I know that you are aware of Schotty's deficiencies. But I don't think Schotty will ever be aware of them, and that's going to hold the offense back. He's just not good enough to design a gameplan that masks Mark Sanchez' deficiencies.

Things have definitely taken a huge turn for the worst since I put this up. I still believe in this team but if things keep going the way they have this could end up being a very long season really quick.

The thing that's really boggled me the last two weeks is how each week a different part of the team "steps down" so to speak. Sanchez was very good vs Miami and awful vs Buffalo. The defense was awful vs Miami and very good vs Buffalo... I just don't understand why the Jets have had so much trouble putting it all together at once?

Honestly, these losses are really bad because they're division losses, but the way in which we lost is getting a bit overhyped because we were expected to win and because of the sky is falling mentality. Probably the worst thing to come out of the game yesterday was the Jenkins injury by far.

The Jets suddenly went from being in the drivers seat to being a passenger hanging on... but we're still a very good football team and I'm sure the problems will be corrected. There's a lot of season left to go so I'm hoping for the best still.

I feel that through sanchez's troubles we would of won this game if it asnt for injuries mainly j co and smith. If they were in I dont think this game goes to overtime mostly because with edwards double covered and keller with his head up his ass he would still ahve someone to throw to

Tyoo much of a disconnect between the coaching staff. Rex is still playing DC and needs to be an HC.

Although my bump was a little harsher than I meant it to be, I still admire your enthusiasm. I was just reminded way too much of the Super Bowl talk after Tennessee and New England last season, and things all of a sudden look very bleak for contention this year.

Our coaching had to be suspect from the start, although I have a lot of hope for Rex. When you can only get one or two phases of your team working week to week, that's coaching. Even against the Phins, our offense wasn't really clicking past some very opportunistic long balls thrown to Clowney and Edwards.

I think part of it is that we run a bit of a smoke-and-mirrors attack on defense. They amazingly got away with it against the Saints, and totally got shamed by the Dolphins. The multiple-attack scheme he is running works well to take the learning curve away with most of the players on D being very new to the scheme. They are going to need to work together at least a year in my estimation to be truly elite, because it's a scheme coached up for the players to take responsibility for assigning gaps and zones - miscues have been a direct result of a lack of communication and that will hopefully fade once these guys are trusting each other more in the scheme.

As I've been saying in numerous other posts, I'm just not as enthusiastic on offense. That seems to be ALL smoke-and-mirrors. And will be until Sanchez can get rid of those rookie cobwebs and see the field clearly. I'm hoping that Schitty isn't going to ruin him, because he is a very talentyed young man.

J-Co and Smith being out I don't believe has anything to do with it.

Clowney was ONE on ONE with a CB all game and Sanchez didn't even give him a chance. Not one thrown to, nothing.

It appeared as if he was wide open over the middle on the OT Sanchez pick.

X-Just want to give you props! You were on board as a true beliver in this teams greatness day 1. You made the argument for where this team is right now. I never really believed until my lying eyes showed me how wrong I was last week. Enjoy the moment!

It's funny...normally I have doubt going into games this big but I have nothing but belief that we are going to win. It was even better when I was on the Colts board and alot of the posters were claiming to have an uneasy feeling about today. The smarter ones really said they were nervous and some said they had a bad feeling. I don't have that at all... just can't sleep.

During the 98-99 championship game I never had a "good feeling" even at 10-0. I just sat there.... (normally a loudmouth) My friend said "man, why aren't you excited, your team is less than a half from the SuperBowl!"

"Bad feeling man...... shit's about to hit the fan. Gimme another beer (as I started pounding them) I want the 4th qtr to be a blur". He just looked at me with a perplexed look. Sure enough...... :(

I've had NOTHING but GOOD vibes this run. There's something magical about this team.... I've had friends (non-JETS fans) say the same.... and of course there are plenty of JETS haters, but that's a good thing. F-em.

    I BELIEVE!!!

Me too, I never really got comfortable in that game. The Jags game never worried me but usually when I have a bad feeling there is a good reason. I don't have that today nor did I have it all week. Even going into the Charger game I knew it was possible we could lose but I never really felt like we were going to. I've spent most of the week accepting the fact that I'm going to cry in front of my son when we win.

We're going to the bar to watch again...... part of me wants to just stay at the house and watch with my dad, but part of me thinks that nothing can change from the gameplan... same seats, same clothes, tv, bar, beer, etc.. they usually lose when we watch at home. stupid..... maybe, but it is what it is.

The bad part is alot of people are going to see a grown man cry in public like a little girl if they win today

    I BELIEVE!

I'm going to the bar as well...although ours has a nice dinning room so I can bring my son. In 2 years we have not lost a game on Sunday in which he was at the bar with me watching the Jets. He's putting his perfect record on the line today.

our's does too, and some people bring their kids....... They usually stick the JETS fans in the back smoking section dungeon away from the common folks..... I think it's by design. :jets::beer::drunk::jets::shit:
