I agree, Id really be shocked if we didnt end up at least at the top of the division and a pick in the 30s :breakdance:
i think we screwed ourself in this past draft and free agency if we want a player in the first round(except for maybe dt,de or te) because look at rb situation we have washington martin blaylock and houston(but dont get me wrong love all of them) and are we going to keep drafting rb idk. Then look at the qb's we have Penningon Clemmens Ramsey and Bollinger we wouldnt draft Quinn cause we have. Then if we want to draft a wide reciever we have smith coles mccariens Cotchery Dwight and more people im sure we have allot of lb's and db's so idk what we are goin to do with our first round pick next year because i dont think we are going to start cutting people left and right.
There's no way Mangini is going to dump Clemens, especially since he's gonna be riding pine all year. We'll upgrade skill positions next year. And yes...we have a pretty solid team, never mind what the darksiders say.
The more players the better...competition brings out the best in the best players. If you tell a player he's starting no matter what then he's just going to coast game to game and you don't get the best out of him. If you have a really good player breathing down a starters neck, then you get 110% out of him. All in all the best player is going to play this year, be it rookie or veteran. The way it should be!
Yea but keep if you drafting people where you alread drafted early the year before so you can have a competition in training camp then we are going to be screwed with the salary cap again
Out with the old and in with the new. This is Mangini's team now and he's not concerned with who Herm loved. Cutting veterans or any player is the nasty part of the NFL business and happens every year. Some of our players are going to get cut. We still have plenty of cap room as well. Our cap was in hell because we had high priced veterans not performing up to par. Think most of that is taken care of aside from Robertson.
Ha ha. This time is purgatory: the season hasn't started so we can't talk about it, training hasn't even started so we can't talk about it. So what do people talk about? Next years draft. I'm not knocking it, (the thread) but I can't wait until the season gets underway so we have something that is of substance to talk about, instead of hypothetical stuff that is such a long way away. Adrian Peterson could break his leg this season (looking at his playing style, you wouldn't bet against it), or Quinn could be a flop in 2006, who knows at this stage? We might as well start a thread as to what is going to happen in the draft in 2008 and 2009 as well, while we're at it.
I've been hearing he was a good DE. Does he have the skills to stand up and play? I see he has about the right frame in the 6'4" - 6'6" 240 - 260 range
The primary skill you look for in a tweener is pass rush ability, which Moses has in spades. You usually dont draft him on his ability to drop back into coverage, that is usually taught. By that token, Moses looks like he has all the tools to make the transition
http://forums.theganggreen.com/showpost.php?p=119250&postcount=31 How many fingers am I holding up? What color is my shirt? Press your face to the screen and divine the future, leave a greasy face print. I wake up in a cold sweat in the middle of the night that we went 2-14 or I jerk awake because I'm dreaming I'm throwing confetti down the canyon of heroes by the bucket.
if you mean if we are picking 1st do we take quinn, maybe we do, depends, we'd probably trade out if we could if they like clemens enough or if chad is okay (or if by some miracle ramsey's switch finally gets turned on), if not we'll take quinn probably (think well at least one of the two should work out between him and clemens if it comes down to needing a new qb for the future)
If we are in position to take quinn it also means we are in position to take Peterson.. so no. Also please we have gone through months of speculation so give it a rest perhaps?
that depends on how well Ramsey or Clemens play. or if Penny comes back and is outstanding and we do not need a QB. or if the upcoming season reveals a hole in the team that can be filled by another player who is equally great at his position. I guess the answer I am trying to get at is who knows and who cares. the season has to play out before we know what we are going to need next year. stupid question.
These threads are stupid....It's like the wheels are spinning on an '82 Fiero and the clutch is slipping....
Is that Steve Slaton on the left (#10)? If so he can't come out in the 2007 NFL draft b/c he'll only be a sophomore next year and the NFL rule states that a player must be 3 years out of High School to be drafted. I don't think he went to prep school.
No its actually Marshawn Lynch, same dude in my avatar. You're right though, I never really noticed how much the two resemble each other. WOW I think Lynch changed his # last year...
Adrian Peterson would be my choice over Quinn. Too bad Quinn didn't come out this year. But I doubt the Jets would have a high pick next year. I say we stay in the top 10 no higher than 7...
comon guys....this is pathetic...its 2 weeks after the draft and you all want to talk about next years draft already...IMO this is a waste of space and we should be focusing on whats coming up ...the 2006 season...better yet...we still have to go through mini camp..
