I understand this argument, but with the type of defense that Rex likes to run, we almost require a corner that is a solid tackler. Revis did that on one side and save our asses on a number of screen plays designed to go over the top of our overloads.

As I'm sure you're well aware, tackling has a lot to do with technique, which can be learned. Unfortunately it also has a lot to do with attitude. The latter is obviously more difficult to change but I think Rex could do it.

If we could make it happen for TJ and Lito it would be worth the risk IMO. The guys coverage/playmaking ability is there when there's a pass rush.

I'm not totally against the idea of trading for Cro, but Rex isn't the be-all end-all of coaching yet - and Cro is not a fan of contact.

Let's not forget that Rex was barely able to get Rhodes to talk to his position coach.

Edit: And while they may make a deal for TJ and something else, do you really think the Jets are going to pay that ridiculous bonus for Lito just to trade him away?

I don't know, I'd say the chances of this happening are very slim to none anyway. I didn't know that bonus had to be paid if a trade was made. I also don't know if Woody would do it - I guess it depends on how much they think it could help.

Well, the Jets would have to pick up his $10mil option bonus in order to own his trade rights, and that bonus immediately gets charged to Woody's purse. I'm not even sure they'd be able to trade him legally at that point anyway. If the Jets choose not to pick up the bonus (most likely scenario), I am pretty sure he becomes UFA.

Cromartie would flourish in our defense. I'd be willing to even part with Greene and then just draft a running back. He would probably overshadow Revis in terms of interceptions at least.

Yeah the people who are complaining that he cant tackle well dont understand what role he would fill.

Cromartie would be an EXCELLENT #2 corner, and if he would be able to cover his man (which he should) that means he wont need to rely on safeties to help him cover often (ala Revis).

And with our safeties freed up they would be able to either creep up to stop the run/blitz or concentrate on # 3 threats (either #3 receivers or good tight ends)

So even having someone like him who cant tackle well, I think would actually improve our run defense.

I dont think Cro getting more ints is too unrealistic.

As Revis gets better (a scary thought to think this guy hasnt even almost peaked yet) hes gonna see a lot less balls thrown his way.

And I just read that the Chargers are worried about losing Sproles.

If they lose him they are going to be desperate for a hb.

No deal on Cromartie. He should have at least appeared interested in taking SG down.

Deion chose not to as Cromartie chose not to tackle on that one play, beisdes that one run Greene had nothing would lead me to believe that Cromartie is a soft tackler i mean how many corners are known for their great tackling, besides Revis and Winfield. Corners are usually the smallest guys on the field so shit it happens.
