this is a no-win situation for us as fans....either way, our day is going to be ruined...unless of course, we sneak into the playoffs....but our play over the last month won't dictate such a bold notion, IMO.

So in essence...the question in this thread is moot. We're fucked either way.

I understand that, but not at the expense of my team losing. Especially to a division rival like the dolphins. I HATE THE DOLPHINS!!!!!!

I knew I should have consulted my "true Jets fans" manual before starting this thread.

Because Jets fans shouldn't be rooting for the other team under any scenario or because the Jets let us down to the point where we have to make decisions like this?

Yeah, but I think you been reading pages from the dolphin fan manual. It's all good though, all is forgiven.

I don't see anyone "rooting" for the dolfags even if they voted for it. Really, can you imagine watching the game and actually rooting against the jets? Being upset if BF hits JC for a 60 yd td? Or LW runs one back? Impossible for almost anyone on this board.

But, if the question was phrased in terms of how upset one would be in the Jets lost to the fins after NE and Balt both won, that is a fair question. I for one would be less upset about this loss than all the other losses. Firstly, we get draft position in front of both NE and MIA. Secondly, it increases the chances that EM and gang are sent packing. Third, I'd be happy for CP and Parcells. Fourth, NE is out.

If the Jets win, its nice but hurts us long term if in fact it saves EM's job. Also, it puts NE in, and we draft behind Parcells.

I hate the freaking pats but there is no way I root fot flipper to win the game.
You are insaine to call yourself a Jets fan if you would cheer for any of the other 3. You should only pull for the other three if it helps the Jet. Like lets say the Jets need the bills to beat the flippers to make it into the playoffs. Then it is ok to root for the bills for the duration of the game and that is it.
    NY JETS FUCK THE REST!

it's just dumb to root against your team to get a higher draft pick or what not... just is.

In case you couldn't tell, I'm one of the people that chose the Dolphins. Again, this is a hypothetical so, because the Ravens game is the same time as the Jets game, I'll be rooting for the Jets. But, if the Ravens win and the Jets win, I'll wish I had rooted for the Dolphins.

If the Dolphins win (in addition to the Pats and Ravens), Chad gets his revenge, a perennial loser (that, granted, we all hate) makes it to the playoffs over the Patriots (who we also hate) who have received more success than any team deserves, the Jets get a higher draft pick and the Jets coaching staff looks that much worse bringing them closer to the fire.

Jeez some of you just do not understand. And pulling the "turn in your Jets fan card" is real lame.

IT'S HYPOTHETICAL! Of course we want the Jets to win...I don't care about a draft pick, and winning is fun.

But just to play along with the question...I'd rather the Dolphins win the division than the Patriots.

Jeez...Grow some skin people. It's a gimmick question.

I beg to differ. We've been laying the smackdown on the dolphins for quite awhile now, preventing them from ever seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Why stop now when we're on a roll.

This is the most ridiculous comment I've hear in years! Pennington. At the hand of Pennington. The guy we thought so little of we never even took the trouble to make sure if he played for anyone it would be outside our division. Gimmie a break. Chad is short listed for the NFL MVP. Noodle arm. I never pull for any team because I am a Jet. Period. But let me tell you if Chad leads the fish to the AFC East title I will appluad him and maybe even choke. The guy is a absaloute star and even after we humiliated him by going after Farve all he has to say was he loved playing for our organisation. Fuck yea, Brett made a ton of difference...........................

Couldn't have said it any better. If the Pats and Ravens win there is no way out for the Jet fans. Either the Pats or the Fins make the playoffs and the Jets are sitting home. I liked Chad and thought that the Jets made a mistake with bringing in Favre and even I don't want to see the Dolphins win. We'd never hear the end of it.
"Couldn't even win win with Favre..."
"Nice job Jets. You gave away Pennington and it came back to bite you in the ass..."

However, there really would be very little satisfaction in beating the Dolphins and giving the division to the Patriots either. Talk about a no-win scenario.
