Considering ESPN fired Rob parker for saying MUCH LESS about RGIII, there is no need to accuse them of double standards (i.e., "imagine if Hugh was White!!", etc.). Douglas was drunk at both nights of the event he and Smith were at, which was basically a series of seminars for aspiring Black journalists. He tried to take the mircrophone to speak at a seminar he was not even on the panel for. AND he was drunk at the time. The name-calling was the last event of his drunken madness. ESPN has no obligation to punish Douglas without an actual investigation. There is no footage of the incident that has surfaced (yet). So they are being proper professionals and actually doing some due diligence. In all likelihood, Hugh, like Parker, will be fired and never heard from again. So his punishment will be a lot worse than Riley Cooper who went away for 2 days, spoke to a counselor and came back all in time to play in the pre-season opener.
