Unless the league forces them to sell - which they won't - they're not going to willingly give up a cash cow. I suggested in another thread that maybe the Johnsons are actually trying to get the fans to "drive them out of town" so they can relocate the team where they can get more revenue, less taxes, and friendlier media and fans. Maybe I'm crazy but I don't think it's so farfetched.
The jets are one of the most valuable franchises despite ten years in the toilet. That’s the NY market.
I am not going to give up this team quite yet. I am not going to blame solely on Flacco. we had a crucial missed FG and could have tied it up. Different story. we had a shanked punt after a terrible first possession of the 2nd half, to me was the key point of the game. Ravens sacked Flacco on first play of Jets possession in 2nd half. then we had a first down fumble, then a Breece Hall fumble which killed our chances to get back in the game.
Come week 5, if we are 0-5, there is a real possibility Saleh May be fired or even JD but he’s got the larger contract. I mean eventually you need results. Injuries can’t be an excuse.
Flacco is a statue back there. I think Whites feet can help a little. Flacco just won’t have the time to be a true passing threat
Did you watch the game? the Oline collapsed and PA didn’t open it up. There was nothing deep guys lol. Flacco looked deep and then realized he had to checkdown. Like I keep saying, the game would have been more competitive offensively—if we ran scripted short yardage plays to all of our weapons. None of these guys are crazy burners or super tall. But they are great in space.
100%. And Saleh had the nerve to say, if Wilson pulled the shoulder forward it would have been a first down. Wrong fucking example. He was the only one creating something out of nothing, fixing other player mistakes.
Don’t forget Carter’s dropped TD in the fourth quarter. The game was most likely decided at that point but still - it would of been an easy TD.
Rubbish about Mims. That’s last year assessment. Is so easy to call him dreadful when he never gets a fucking chance to prove it on the field. He played plenty hard in preseason while Davis is still to show shit. Three TE sets apparently didn’t do the trick either.
I don’t understand how people are still defending the guy. The Jets have had one of the worst offenses in the NFL over the past three years and by the end of the year I’d imagine we’ll set all time three year cumulative lows. But we have a budding superstar that we’ve locked in a cage because our coaching staff is a bunch of assholes? Mims sucks dude. Sorry it upsets you to hear it.
Hey, what is wrong with you? This is no time to be logical. We need to fire everyone and start our fourth string QB.
Well, if that is a fact in the eyes of the CS that he sucks so bad why the fuck was he not traded. He had callers. Meantime we are still making excuses about Davis as to why he is our number one.
What do you really think about Mims? They’d throw him in there and he’d give us 6/75 yards a game? You think the coaching staff really wants to play Jeff Smith or DJ Montgomery just because they want Mims to hang himself? As incompetent as the Jets are, I don’t think they’re leaving TO-Junior on the bench out of spite because he’s a schmuck. He must really be that bad.
To be fair, I have yet to see a game plan that optimizes any of our WR or QB strengths. Mims is a better option in the red zone, if the game plan ever gets us there.
I was more disappointed with EM than O I was with Davis. I just expected him to make more plays. GW showed he is going to be a special player and MLF started targeting him. Berrios to me is showing more than Elijah at least in this game.
