That's a great day one to me... only thing I'd change is Clemons to Clemens

He's a raw talent that would have been a great pick up to work with for a year or two into a dominant 3-4 pass rusher. I definitely would have taken him in the 3rd.

The picks that I just posted are what I was praying for. I was OK with the trade down in the second to get a second next year. I was just hoping Lendale would fall to us at 53 (or 49 where we picked Clemens). If they wanted a blocking TE why not pick a 1st round talent like Leonard Pope in the third. The guy is 6'8-270 so he can at least get in the way (thats near tackle size), and he can catch everything. and if you need a safety why not Bing he had size and was a great tackler. Smith has terrible knees and no one has ever heard of him. Bing 6'2 230 or Smith 6'1 210(maybe). Also, I went on the MSU forums during the draft and their own fans didn't even think he was any good. No one thought he would even be drafted. Now if their fans don't even thing he is draftable he has to suck. Waste of a third round pick. I'm still pissed (Like Kyle Brady instead of Sapp pissed)
