Meanwhile, they have JPP, Osi, Tuck, and even Tollefson whos a backup who gets a handfull of snaps a game has 5 sacks on the year.
That was 2007 and the only reason we look back at that fondly is because of the reason you stated...this year a Giants-Patriots Super Bowl would have zero charm for me, like a Yankees-Phillies (or Braves) World Series does for me as a Mets fan. I don't hate the Giants team, but we have to deal with gasbag Giant fans a lot more than Pat fans and plus let's face it, Rex amped up the rivalry too. He amped it up with his talking in the preseason (enraging Giants fans and players) and the Jets fell on their face when it was time to put up against the Giants.
I agree that I was very grateful to the Giants for beating NE back in 07, but also that this year is different. There's no unbeaten NE streak on the line. I would still prefer the Giants beat those cakeholes from Foxboro, but mostly I am meh about it. We have a Super Bowl party at my house every year, and if it's NE v. Giants, I might want to see who wants to play pool for a few hours while the game is on in the other room. Who cares? I try to ignore gasbag Giant fans, but it is difficult, I admit. But... I will keep trying. And oh yeah, go Ravens and Niners!
2007 Was different for me for this main Reason...... I was in a bar in NYC watching that NYG Viking game when Eli threw 4 picks and 3 Pick Six's..... The Bar was full of Giant fans looking to hang themselves, literally taking turns screaming and going for walks outside the bar - EVERY SINGLE ONE OF EM wanted Eli traded and Coughlin fired!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT WAS HILARIOUS!!!!!!!! Just an entire bar full of Giants fans literally crying and giving up the whole season....DONE! I sat there smiling and said, 1) I would take Eli on my team any day and 2) Look at the schedule, the Giants actually have a great chance to make a run Each week as they picked it up i said the Giants could win it all as Giant fans continued to cry. So, what we had that year were a lot of Giant fans with little confidence and far from the bragging Jackhole Giant fan you see here today and part of their uber-douchery confidence comes from 2007, the year they cried literally all the way to the unexpected Super Bowl... I rooted and stood by the Giants that year more than ANY Giant fan I knew!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't do the same this year - While I see the same potential for the team, the FANS are what is most different - and really if you look at guys like Jacobs and Rolle, guys that were getting skewered 7 weeks ago, they are huge Douchebags and hard to root for as well. I'm rooting hard for the Harbaugh Superbowl - otherwise, I might just take part in other activities during the SB.
