I am sure you meant to include Fitzpatrick on the cut list

He'll be a FA, no need to cut

Folk is mediocre. He won't cost you games (except the Bengals game lol), but he's no Gostkowski or Tucker.

He's not $3.5 mil per year good. He is the 9th highest paid kicker in the league. You dont get paid that amount and miss extra points and cost games.

Good job. I just have a few quibbles.

At TE I'd probably keep one more. If Tomlinson has shown promise, I'd probably keep him over Bostic. Either would be cheap, and I'd be shocked if the Jets added a TE both in FA and the draft, so they'd probably want to keep 3 TEs.

    Kellen Davis is already gone.

What about Khiry Robinson? Would you bring him back to TC at least and give him a shot to make the team? I think I would. He's cheap and would give the Jets more of a power back.

On the DL, the Jets have some players on the IR and PS who showed promise in Lawrence Thomas, Julien Obioha and Claude Pelon. I'd at least keep them at least until after the draft. Similarly, I think I'd keep some of the other young players like Darryl Roberts, Craig Watts, Marcus Williams, Ronald Martin, Braedon Bowman, Romar Morris, and maybe Nick Marshall, plus any PS members they like at least until after the draft and possibly into TC.

I'd also cut Gilchrist. I like the idea of saving some cap space for 2018.

I like Fournette a lot, but if I could swing a deal to move down to just above the area where Ramczyk is likely to go, and acquire at least a 2nd and 4th round pick, I'd do it. OL has to be the #1 priority, with a pass-rushing OLB #1A. If a topnotch pass-rushing OLB is there at their spot, I think I'd take him over Fournette, even as much as I like him and think he'd help this team. Having a real pass rush would help the team more than the difference between Fournette and a 4th Rd. RB.

If we improve our secondary from the insanely ridiculous state it's in now our pass rush instantly gets better.

True, but the pass rush is more important. Even the best DBs in the NFL can only cover receivers for an average of 3.0 seconds. A stud pass rusher who can get to the QB in less time will make an average secondary better than stud DBs will make an average pass rush better.

I'm with Hasty unequivocally. If nothing else get an edge rusher. Whether you have a franchise QB or not. It's the name of the game now in the NFL.

Tear this thing down all the way, keep a few choice veterans, and the handful of young guys mentioned, and restock.

Peake was drafted. Anderson not so much. Just because one rookie is playing better out of the gate does not mean they will continue to do so in three to five years. Peake is a physical freak, if he can play to his potential he could be outstanding.

Thinking about how the Broncos wrecked the pats plans to win a superbowl last year an elite pass rusher made the difference so yea dbs are important but a pass rush did tear down Brady.

It's easy to play against the pass when the other team has all of their RB's on the DL.

Your contracts for the free agents are crazy conservative if those aren't per year figures. Trumaine Johnson and Morris Claiborne earned those salaries in the past single season.

If they are, then I'm with most of those signings. Not sure about Joeckel. He was supposedly coming on in preseason before he got hurt, but it was preseason. Claiborne was excellent this season prior to injury so I'd imagine he'll command more on the open market.

I like the idea of going after defensive backs and ONE offensive lineman in free agency rather than drafting defensive backs. Corners in particular often take a couple of seasons to develop if they do so and it seems to be one of the most hit or miss positions.

We have a young enough core on defense to the point where we should blend the youthful box with an experienced secondary. I would keep the box young, draft young offensive lineman and youthful edge rushers.

It is intriguing to target a corner in the second or third though as it's an extremely deep class.

We'll know whether or not we should keep Maccagnan after this offseason.

Also. Can we go back to these? [IMG]

I like the logo so much more than the current Jets helmets. Jerseys are the least of our worries, but I feel like we're the only team in the league that doesn't at least wear a throwback here and there.

If you get me Mehl and Klecko I don't care if the jersey's are pink.

It almost hurts seeing those guys in that pic, and all the lousy years since, man. Two of my very favorites

If we never agree on anything else, we agree on this, and I love the Klecko picture!

We can't wear those throwbacks because of the one helmet rule.

I agree with what you said, but by the same token, just because Peake was drafted and Anderson wasn't, doesn't mean that Peake will be the better WR in the NFL.

True but at 6'3" 209 lbs he has every chance to be good.
