I don't think Schottenheimer is going to get fired. If anyone should be let go is the QB coach Matt Cavanaugh. It's his job to teach and prepare Sanchez and it's obvious Sanchez is going backwards. I think they will hold off on Schottenheimer until they have a clear vision of who is availiable. I understand Callahan is without a contract. I think he won't resign because he wants to be a head guy somewhere or OC. If I had my way...I'd demote Tannenbaum and bring in a personnel guru. I would tell Rex if he talks about the Super Bowl ,he better deliver or else. They have to bring a QB that will compete with Sanchez. I'd sign Jason Campbell. He might not a franchise QB, but he's a viable QB if Sanchez and he's young enough to push Sanchez. Lastly..I would want to upgrade the team speed on both sides of the ball. And for God's sake, get some safeties who can make plays.
While I don't think Schottenheimer is a particularly talented coordinator, he's rarely had a good quarterback to work with. Brett Favre was hurt and a shadow of himself that season. The best quarterback he's had was Pennington in 2006.
