I said this before and I will say it again... Joe Namath is a very OVERRATE QB. Yes he was the QB that won SB 3 and help make the NFL what it is today but as for over his whole career he overrated.
He wasn't overrated at all. He was the original gunslinger which is why his stats weren't all that great. He was also the only QB who could ever use a 2 step drop and then throw the ball 60 yards on a line. He was hurt in his last year at Alabama so the NFL never saw the real Namath but ask your new coach's father who is the greatest QB he ever saw play the game and he will tell you Namath in a second.
The HOF is all about stats and I can't see how a QB can be in there that has more INT then TD. Don't get me wrong he was a very good QB but not great.
Just because he won one game that if the truth be told he wasn't the reason the Jets won SB 3 it was the running game and the D.
The truth be told you never saw the Jets in a single SB game and its very possible you never will. It's only one game no big deal.
