Brian Costello @BrianCoz The Jets will make the rest of their cuts after practice today. Must be down to 53 by 9 p.m. tonight #nyj
I think you're referring to Harrison, Richardson is a vet. (I agree Harrison is prob going to the PS, especially since they cut MTV).
Two more from Manish DL Damon Harrison WR Eron Riley http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/jets/2012/08/jets-start-making-cuts
Agreed. Considering Riley's measurables and Schilens injury history I would've preferred if Riley made the roster. Jordan White not among the cuts already announced... maybe he made the team? DIdn't show much yesterday.
Hopefully we get somebody we want..the Colts plan to claim everybody cut and with the first priority they can fill out their roster with some pretty good players most likely.
So (technically) to get down to 53 only 2 more cuts need to be made. I'm guessing one will be WR Pollard (who got hurt yesterday so I'm guessing there are some technicalities to do), who will the "last" guy be? TE Epps will prob stay as long as we pick up a true blocking TE from another team. I wonder if we'll keep 10 LBs...
As of now, I really think we need another RB, blocking TE, maybe a WR and CB. Im surprised Epps, Hayden Smith, Pollard and some of the LB's havent been cut.
Considering we're only keeping 6 DL I can see us keeping 10 LBs (at least for tonight, who knows after waiver claims). Yeah, Pollard and one between Epps and Smith are probably going to be the two final cuts. Worth noting that, again for now, Antonio Allen has probably made the team.
He has barely been given a chance to play in preseason, which I really don't understand. And now they're trying him at FB? What a waste, this kid has great potential IMO.
Rich Cimini @RichCimini Keep an eye on TE position. #Jets looking to add someone there: source. Will be working the phones.
The Jets need another starting quality running back. I have full faith in Shonn Greene but if Greene were to get hurt, which isn't a stretch, then we're going to be in major trouble having to rely on McKnight and Powell.
TE, P, CB, WR, OL, FB, and possibly even RB are places I would expect the Jets to be scouring cuts all over the place. They can make improvements to the bottom of the roster at all of those positions if the right guys come available.
Reading that Robert Griffin was cut - they probably want to try and get him on the PS. Jets RapidReports @CBSSportsNFLNYJ According to reports by Star-Ledger & Daily News, Jets have started cuts: Collins, Koloto, Lloyd, Fletcher, Griffin, Kroul, Posey, Lewis...
Chris Nimbley @Cnimbley #Jets would've liked to keep Jay Richardson but he isn't eligible for practice squad. They need roster spots elsewhere
