I don't know...the Eagle offense looked pretty impressive on Monday night. I'm going to be REAL interested to see how that progresses as the season goes along. That set with the Tackles out on the edges...I remember running something like that in HIGH School as a gimmick...lol...not a "playbook" play. Very interesting...certainly was FUN to watch though!!
Outside shot is a stretch, Tampa has virtually no chance at the playoffs. The NFC is so strong that good, solid teams like the Giants and Bears have at best an outside shot at the playoffs. Anyone in this thread predicting Tampa to win 10 games is simply out of their minds. They will be very fortunate to win 8, and could easily be 6-10 again. They will be 0-2 after this week and their schedule doesn't get any easier.
i think it will have some initial success, but the league has a way of catching up with those types of things quickly. Also not convinced in Vick staying healthy, the defense does not impress me, and the overall talent with exception of McCoy is not great. i wouldn't rule out a division win......and it was fun to watch. but my guess is the Cowboys finally take a division.
If you look at the NFC, is there an actual bad team in the conference? The worst teams so far appear to be the Rams, Cards, Bucs, Panthers, and Vikings. And you can make a case that all of those teams are at least solid. I know the Redskins and Giants looked bad, but I can't put those 2 in the same group as the others because they have potential to get elite QB play. Conversely, the Browns, Bills, Jags, Chargers, Raiders, and Titans are all arguably worse than any NFC team. Some haters would probably rank us last in the NFC too (or 2nd to last to Tampa).
haha  Before the season, I picked Dallas to win the East with Philly coming in 2nd. I really like the potential of the Bears too with Trestman!
I don't think we will really get to see the Eagles' offense playing that way all year, because Vick was already limping by the 4th quarter. Vick is one of the most injury-prone QBs out there, and I think he will get injured a lot this season especially since they'll be running more plays per game than usual. With Vick healthy the offense will be great, but as he gets more and more banged up and Foles has to step in, I think the Eagles will struggle a lot this season. I just can't see Vick staying healthy long enough for them to be good this year.
Me too! I picked Dallas, Eagles, Giants, Redskins. My friend picked Giants, Redskins, Cowboys, Eagles. Got 100 bucks on it if either of our predictions are right. Cowboys are due for a good year and finally getting over that hump and I think the Eagles will be much improved with their coaching changes.
It also seems like their HC has lost the team a little bit. Some of the Buccaneers were having some sort of big argument on the sidelines, and that's a bad sign for Week 1, usually that only happens when the team has collapsed. I think they were fully expecting to steamroll over the Jets and have this be a confidence-building game for Freeman (who definitely reminds me of Sanchez.)
Go back to the Pats forums! Why are you even here? You said quite clearly, "1 - Bucs are not a good team." So you didn't say that to make Jets victory seem less meaningful than it was, eh? Riiiiiiiiiiiiight. Maybe you should learn to read your OWN posts.
I think you're right. They're a very good team who committed a shitload of penalties and that's what killed them. Of course people will downplay them though, this is predictable becasue it suits their agenda of Jets-bashing.
Not that agree about his first point, but you are shaping up to be one of the most predictable homers on this entire forum.
They went 6-10 last season and looked like one of the worst teams in football in week 1 this season. Their QB is bottom 10 in the league. How does that equate to a "very good team"? It's difficult to make any sort of argument that TB isn't one of the 10 worst teams in football right now. Anyone claiming they are "very good" is basing it on pure speculation and not results we have ever seen on the field. They aren't sniffing the playoffs in the NFC and best case scenario seems to be 3rd place in their own division. This has nothing to do with our win, which was big for us and a quality win for a variety of reasons. I always find this ironic because in the prediction threads before week 1 everyone was talking about how TB was garbage and that we had a great chance to win. Now that we beat them, they're a serious contender.
Don't tell me where to go asswipe! Saying the Bucs aren't a very good team does not make a win less meaningful. I said a win is a win! I also said even a lucky win was a good one and could give momentum going forward. If you have such a fucking complex about the Jets that you need to pump up the Bucs to make you feel better, that's your issue! As far as the Pats go (which you brought up), they were very fortunate to get out of Buffalo with a win, but I don't try to pretend that the Bills are a great team to make me feel better about it. Like I said in the first place, a win is a win.
Maybe your post would have been more believable if you had given a reason why the Bucs weren't a good team.
If it walks like a duck... Where are all the reasons on this thread that the Bucs are great? It's all speculation and opinion. It's my opinion they are not very good, starting with their QB, and will be lucky to win 6 or 7 games.
