Age not being a factor, if I were looking for a pure passing QB I would rather have any of those players than Ben. No joke. (no drugs)

Some of those guys have never even won a playoff game. Garcia is retread who has played for half the league.

I don't think a team's success or lack thereof is a great indicator of a QB's talent. Garcia was a great quarterback for SF, but clearly his best days are behind him. I think people forget the man's almost 40.

And you would still rather have Garcia? So was Ben holding the Steelers back? Did they win in spite of him?

With his size and mobility he's a great fit for that team. He has a strong defense and an offense that relies on running and short throws, which suites his abilities perfectly. Don't get me wrong, I know he's a good QB and a great athlete in general, I just think there are quite a few better passers in the league.

Ben doesn't have the stats of other QB's because the Steelers don't get all pass happy.

The majority of the posters realize how good he is. Imagine how good he could be with a real offensive line and a good running game? Steelers averaged 3.7 ypc this year. In five years he won 2 superbowls. I feel like he hasn't even reached his full potential yet.

I think he's been one of the top three since Palmer's knee injury. He's right behind Manning and Brady and with Brady coming back from major knee surgery and Manning lossing a little he may well be the No. 1 guy right now. The guy is a clutch playmaker on a bad offensive team. The Steelers OL this year was awfull there running game was awful and they are thin at WR. Ben makes plays to keep drives moving and wins games.

Put Drew Brees outdoors in December against a good defensive team and he looks very mediocre.

Hey, guy, you made the thread, you asked how good Ben is. Different people have different opinions, you don't have to be an asshole if you don't agree with them.

so you really think he is shit??

Because you placed him in the bottom half of the NFL.

You didn't provide strong evidence of why you think he sucks, you threw up a list of other QBs. And those QBs have a little more "flash" to their game, so is it Ben's grind it out style out don't like?

if you think Ben-Ro is in the bottom half of the NFL regarding the QBs....and after reviewing that assinine list you posted earlier, you do......then you're clueless when it comes to football...period.

Having general opinions are one thing....but you have NO factual information to back up your opinion whatsoever.

Like I said, I think he's a good QB. I don't think he is shit or that he sucks. I just ranked him higher than about two thirds of the other starting QBs in the league.

In his prime, Garcia was much better than Ben is now. Right now it depends how the team is built, but in most cases, yes I would.

EDIT: On second thought, Garcia's getting pretty damn old, so he's hardly a franchise player anymore.. so tough call.
