The dominant D yesterday was not a surprise. 4 games coming up vs. Brady, Rivers and Vick. Elite offenses with a ton of weapons. That will tell you the story. Against everyone else they should be just fine and even dominate several games like we saw yesterday.

Theoretically, there's no way we shouldn't have an improved defense from last year. The secondary is the same but with a healthy Revis and Leonhard and more experience for Cromartie and Wilson. The linebackers are the same except for Westerman replacing Jason Taylor but also with a healthy Pace. The d-line is the most improved are of our defense because we've gotten both younger (replaced S Ellis and Jenkins with Wilkerson and K Ellis, respectively) and deeper (Dixon and Pitoitua). We still don't have an "elite" pass rusher but our ability to force 3 and outs has never been stronger.

Sundays win whilst against an inferior opponent was impressive due to the lack of rushing yards , our Dline with its youth and upside is an exciting prospect. Obviously the next 3 games will go some way to confirming our assumptions but i dont see this team getting gassed like it did last year and with Ellis to be added I think we will improve as we go through the year. Wilkerson / Pitouita/Dixon /Wilson / Westerman / Mauga all have limited experience and good upside.

We still lack the elite olb and Safety but with the improvements above and those of Pace/ Cromartie I feel we can keep the vast majority of teams from getting anyhwere near 20 points.
