Just watched this. Holy crap, he's smarter than I even gave him creidt for. Outstanding football IQ--he was talking to Gruden like an equal and the smile on Gruden's face said it all. This guy knows what he's talking about, knows what he's looking at and knows where to go with the ball in every situation. If we don't take him at 18 I will be perturbed to say the least. He's got incredible arm talent with a million dollar head. _
He isn't dropping to 18, no way. He seems really quiet and not too confident, until you see him start to talk football.
Yeah I know that but one can dream. Apparently according to some, if he drops to 18 that means there is something wrong with him because all those QB needy teams passed on him therefore he shouldn't get drafted at all. Be a sweet UDFA pickup That's the difference for me between him and Geno. Both are immensly talented but Teddy's football IQ is off the charts and Geno's is barely on the chart. Plus Teddy's leadership qualities are apparently outstanding. _
They also vsited with Bortles who is going top 1-2-3. Just doing due dili in case. If NE gets Teddy I'm switching my favorite sport to curling and moving to Reykjavik. _
They know they have to do their due diligence. I'm not exaggerating when I say any snap could be Brady's last.
Following me around? My belittlement has nothing to do with where he was drafted, it has to do with his lack of football IQ. This is ALL guessing. Folks suggesting last year that Geno was really the number 1 pick that "fell" to 39 are delusional. If Teddy "falls" to 18 then he never was a top 5 pick like me are any other number of non-professionals GUESSED. If we get him at 18 I'm not going to exault that we got the number 1 pick at 18--it's stupid. What don't you understand about this internet thing--it's ALL guessing. If Teddy goes 3, it's not because I knew better and was RIGHT, it's because I GUESSED better. Manziel is either going to boom or bust. Whether you predicted one or the other and your predition is right or wrong does not mean you knew better or worse--it just means you GUESSED right or wrong. Geno and Teddy have a very similar skill set. Geno has a stronger arm, Teddy has a quicker release and is more accurate. Where they differ tremendously IMHO is in football IQ. That's why I'm predicting (Read: Guessing) that Teddy is going to have a much higher ceiling. Internet dude, nobody knows anything. _
Sometimes you make dumb people look not dumb. But please, explain why my post was dumb? Do you think you actually KNOW anything? More than real NFL FO people? Who also make mistakes? What do you think Manziel is going to do? Teddy? Bortles? Your opinions one way or the other are nothing more than guesses. If you're right, you didn't KNOW better and if you're wrong, you didn't KNOW worse. You just guessed right or wrong. Slightly educated guesses but guesses nonetheless. Unless of course you're basing your opinoins on 1000s of hours of coaches tape from college and HS, personal interviews with the player, his coaches, his family, his background check, his Wonderlic question by question, being at the combine and pro day IN PERSON and talking to other professional evaluators--ALL the things NONE of us are privy to. But go ahead, give us your predictions. Let's see who's dumb. _
Follow you around? Hardly. Any post that mentions a QB and we're guaranteed to see at least five posts per page from you.
Here's a hint. QB is the most important position in all of football and my franchise has sucked for decades. Until we get THAT GUY, I'll continue to hope we find him. I notice you didn't address my points. It's ALL guessing here on the internet. If you TRULY believe you know better you are either a fool or delusional. My opinion is no better that anyone else's here. Well, maybe that's not true. But you get my drift. _
For the record, I actually agree with you. If Teddy falls to 18, I say we draft him. I have no problem that you think Geno isn't the answer and that we should draft Teddy. I do have a problem with your reasoning. You constantly use the argument that every team passed on Geno (including the Jets twice!) at least once as a reason for why he isn't a franchise QB, but then mocked that argument here in regards to Teddy. No problem with what you're arguing. Have a problem with how you're arguing it.
Absolutley not what I've done. I have never said Geno isn't a franchise QB because teams passed on him once or twice--I've suggested he's not a franchise QB because in MY opinion he doesn't have the football IQ to get to that level. Teddy, in MY opinion while having a similar skillset has vastly superior football IQ therefore in MY opinion he WILL be a francise QB. The comments about him being passed over are for those here who say we got the number 1 pick in the draft at 39. No we didn't--we got the 39th player in the draft--some folks here need to feel better about the pick or rationalize it for some reason. Good value isn't enough for some, they need to have gotten a steal. If we get Teddy at 18, I'll be excited because I believe we've gotten a franchise QB--not because we got the number 1 or 2 or 3 pick in the draft at 18. If Teddy doesn't go 1 or 2 or 3 it means he was never those picks--just like I firmly believe Geno was never the number 1 pick. None of these projections mean anythng--it's all guesswork. I think 4 guys are going first round but I could be wrong. What I do believe is that there are at least 4 and as many as 6 QBs that are better than anyone drafted last year. _
My opinion on Geno has to do with my opinion on his talent--not where he was drafted. My opinion on why or where Idzik drafted him is a GUESS--I wasn't there and neither was anyone else on this board. We have NO idea why Idzik waited until 39--maybe he didn't think he was a franchise QB. If he thought he was, I'm guessing he's taking him MUCH MUCH earlier than 39, especially when he had 2 picks in the first AND the ability to move up to grab him at any spot from 14 to 38. If you were a GM (which neither of us are) and you saw a franchise guy sitting there--would you wait until 39 or would you move heaven and earth to get that guy earlier. As it is, he got great value but I don't think Idzik looked at him as a franchise QB. He might have but his actiuons tell me otherwise--but again I have no idea. You are confusing MY opinion on Geno with a guess as to what Idzik did and why he did it. Said differently--I think Teddy is a franchise QB regardless of where he is drafted. GMs may not agree and he may not go till round 3. Doesn't change my opinion of him, it changes what I think of where GMs were looking at drafting him. _
If he's on the board at 10 (DET) and Idzik executed a reasonable trade to get him, I'd be okay with that, too.
