2010 Oline TE Corner STs 2012 QB WR Dline Safety RBs and LBs are a rub. 2010 wins because STs was 1000 times more effective and saved the offense and defense a number of times in a fraction of a second.
Say what you want about Sanchez, but the moment was never too big for him like it is for guys like Carson Palmer and Andy Dalton. He definitely had the right mental makeup for NY but he was screwed the second he was drafted by an organization who entrusted Mike Tannebaum, Rex Ryan, Brian Schottenheimer, and Matt Cavenaugh in his development. Disagree on the coaching. Rex is a better defensive coach than Bowles, but Gailey is light years ahead of Schottenheimer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Rex can't hold Bowles jock as a HC or as a DC. EVERY moment was too big for Sanchez. He is neither that smart nor that talented. He's a good young man, likeable, just not very good. He had a couple of good playoff games early in his career and it's been downhill since then. If he could have sat his first two years behind a veteran like Fitz, had a decent QB coach, OC and HC, and not been jerked around, he might have developed into a solid starting QB. None of those things happened with him, and he is barely passable as a backup.
Rex can't hold Bowles jock as a hc or dc?Bowles got swept by him,Bowles never won a Superbowl as a DC or a playoff game yet as HC.I don't like Rex but you sound ridiculous.Bowles is looking like he might be a better overall head coach that's the only thing I know so far.
Sorry, Rex never won a Superbowl as a DC, or HC obviously, either. The Myth, which Rex perpetuated with his big fucking mouth in NY, that Rex had much to do with The Ravens D is erroneous...a Myth. Bowles won a SB as a play calling Starting Safety, and is the one in the Playoffs, as DC, more recently. Fuck Rex where he breathes
It's not about who the better coach is. It's about how Rex did in 2010 vs how Bowles did this year. Bowles did make some rookie mistakes. Clock management wasn't great, but did improve through the year. On the positive, the Jets were 4th in the league in least penalties. In my book this is huge and shows that Bowles will be a much better HC than Rex in the long term. The 2010 Jets were ranked 18th in least penalties. Sanchez was pretty good in the 2 minute drill and had quite a bit of comeback wins that year. Clock management was good for the most part, but the team struggled early in games. It's probably a wash.
2010 advantages: O-Line, TE, RB, LBs, DBs and special teams 2015 advantages: WRs, D-Line, QB If that 2010 team played this 2015 teams schedule they'd be 13-3
Nacho sucked in 2009, and 2010. In that AFC championship, it was his ass that put us in the big hole we were in, and personally gave Pitt the points that won the game. I'm so glad he is in Philadelphia. He was a Gholston like draft flop. It didn't take him long to play like the real QB he is to keep the Eagles out of the playoffs last season did it? Are there any Nacho lovers left at this point in his career on this board? He is young, so maybe one day he will learn to not be a pussy, but I doubt it.
Night and day different in the opposite direction. The 2010 team was great. This team is green slime. What made the 2010 team so great was a few successful drafts that yielded great up and coming players like Revis, Harris, Mangold, Brick, and Keller. Number 2 was an extremely successful FA pull. Players like Jenkins, Pace, Woody, Faneca, Richardson pushed that team into the stratosphere. This team is the very opposite extreme in every way imaginable, including and most of all the coaching. Rex Ryan knew how to utilize the talent already assembled with a few subtle additions of his own, Scott and Leonhard. This team has a Hc that sucks and cannot utilize even the strongest areas of the team, DL and WR. The GM also is marginal at best. He completely sucked in this last draft and besides Williams, you could debate every other pick is shit. You also debate how much value he wasted in the Darron Lee. Lee is a situational, part time player at best given that the HC plays a 3-4 hybrid and Lee is only suited as an OLB in a 4-3 strictly. He sucks playing inside and cannot make the defensive calls. All in all, it was a complete WASTE of a 1st round draft choice that should very clearly have been utilized on an OL. The only way this changes is by first and foremost, FIRE the HC. Put the GM on notice that he sucks and he'd better start drafting a lot better than he has thus far. From there, the cap must be straightened out, because this team will need to utilize FA heavily just to keep from being compared to the BROWNS....
Keller was good, I like to imagine him on a team with a real QB. 2010 defense wasn’t just good it was historically good. I remember reading a PFF article in 2010. The Jets D was ranked #1. At the time Greenbay had the #2 D. The Jets D was so good that the Packers D at #2 was statistically closer to #8 than the Jets at #1. Quite the accomplishment when you consider how much they were on the field with a Mark Sanchez offense. If we went on to win a superbowl that D would have been remembered with the all time greats.
