Sanchez will win more games than Stafford this year. Mark it down. No doubt about it. Although, that is like predicting there will be 16 games this season.
I think we got the Favre we wanted when we wanted Favre the first time to replace the FAvre we got when we wanted him the second time. Bravo.
How long have you been watching this team? Are you from NY? Why would you be following Sanchez in High School?? Anyway, a Jets fan is a Jets fan, and I am never gonna give up on my team. I might be dead before they ever return to the Super Bowl, but I will never give up. I might be annoyed today... and maybe I won't read as much during the offseason... but on opening day I will be watching the game!!! I will be routing for whoever is under center. With all that said... the NY Jets have always had the penchant for making the wrong decision. Maybe you haven't been following long enough. It was "a new fucking era" when they took Kenny O'Brien over Dan Marino too in the draft. In my opinion last year they made great free agent moves on both lines, where the game is really won and lost, and then they had to go too far and get Favre. See always the wrong decision. You know they would have at least been in the playoffs with 7 INTs vs. 22. But nonetheless would I be surprised if this kid is better than mediocre, yes really really surprised. Would I be upset that I was wrong today on draft day?? Absolutely not. I hope he Super Bowl MVP some day. Been hoping for 30 years!!
You have to love this trade. The only question I have now is who plays RDE? Do we have anybody who can start at this point?
Oh no I'm agreeing with you, I love this deal....I was telling Bricket-head that the 3 players who we gave them were shit
I've been a Jets' fan my entire life (almost 25 years). My father raised me the right way...I know you've been watching this team way longer than I've even been alive, but I'm every bit as passionate as you - I want them to win every game. I want them to go all the way. I'm originally from Torrance, California...lived there for 22 years -- dad's from Toms River, NJ. I'm not a USC Trojans' fan, but I've followed California's top prospects very, very closely ever since I started college at Fresno State. Every once and a while the Bulldogs would land a top-tier Cali prospect. I pay very close attention to national football recruiting now. I follow these players from high school to the pros and beyond... Now, I'm across the country at the other USC...watching and cheering for a team in the best conference in college football - the SEC. I know about both sides of the map when in comes to college football. I love this game. I can honestly say that Mark Sanchez is one of the best and most exciting quarterbacks that I've ever seen.
As bad as we may think we are as a organization I can't remember when we were in position to get that special QB(usually takes #1 overall). I don't plan on being that bad in the next few years with Rex Ryan so I don't believe we will have that shot in a long while. Not to mention some of the best QBs in the league right now and all time were not labeled the "special QB". Like what was said above if the coaches believe it then I think this may have been our best opportunity to get a good QB. I do not even need him to be a Peyton Manning HOF type QB. Just a solid QB (I'd give an example, but that would get torn to pieces).
The people who hate this are the same fans who hated Pennington and thought that KC was the "second coming". Face it, this is the third (EDIT: second - my bad but the third time..Penny, Brett, drafting Sanchez - thanks Winston!) Coaching Staff that does not believe in KC...were they all wrong? Only time will tell.
i like this move. and, it cost us a 2nd and 3 backups. rex remembers when his father won the sb with the jets and they had joe willie at qb. sanchez started for what amounts to the la franchise in the nfl ( usc). and, cassell fetched a 2nd round pick much higher than the one we gave up. cassell didn't even start at all at usc. :jets:
It's the second coaching staff and actually the same OC and GM who were here when we drafted Clemens. Hopefully this says more about what the think about Sanchez than what the think about Clemens.
Ha ha ha ha. That's funny that your Dad raised you the right way!! My Dad has been a Giants fan since he was 4 before there ever were the Jets.... and for some odd reason I rebelled and what a huge mistake that was!!!!! Ha ha ha ha ha. I would have enjoyed 3 SB victories and another appearance!! Anyway, what's done is done and I can't undo it. Funny enough I lived in NY my whole life until 6 years ago when I moved to... you guessed it Los Angeles!! Ha ha ha. I am definitely more of a pros guy, I never really had a college football team so I will trust your knowledge there and your SoCal knowledge, but I know the Jets and have seen things like this all before, but this time I have to be wrong. i just have to be.
Also, the worst part of this is my wife is a New England Patriots fan she is from New Hampshire!!! I want to punch out her brother and her uncles, it sucks!! They had 4 2nd round picks!! 4!!!! I hate them but they have their shit together and the Jets usually don't!!!
Ha ha ha ha ha. I will give you this... you are brutally honest even when it hurts your own argument. I appreciate that. I loved Pennington, but Clemens has been fully evaluated yet, I can admit that.
100% agreed. I belive in Sanchez. Then again I get 0 dollars if he makes it big. I Also happen to belive in Tanny. He has hit on every palyer he moved up for early ( Revis and Harris). The Staff belives in Sanchez. I did before the draft but these guys need him to work out. I will sit back and happliy hope that our team has finally made that franchise QB pick.
Winston is always brutaly honest. weather you agree or disagree. Its that honesty that makes him a good poster and one to argue your points with.
