Where did you read/hear that Washington's GM is the "soundest talent evaluator in the league." I have a VERY hard time believing that as I can't believe that anyone that is THAT good would work for that meddling buffoon Dan Snyder.
And what makes you such a great expert and evaluator of talent? Saying that the other four will not see the light of day on the Jets or any other NFL roster is just arrogant and absurd. You don't have a clue what will happen and neither does any of the rest of us. Quit talking like you're so knowledgeable and can see the future. Further, your grasp of the English language isn't so hot. You start out with a comment and rating on Mac's trades, define what trades are (as if we didn't know), and then proceed to list draft picks in with the trades. Laughable, simply laughable.
for a rookie GM... i say he did amazing. He showed he can pull off what ever moves need to be pulled. Only thing he did that bothered me was the David Harris contract and not making Wilk a top priority. Outside of that i think he's been great. Love how he got Marshall for cheaper than Percy and used the other pick from Marshall to trade for Stacy. I love how he built an offense that Geno should be able to run, giving him nice weapons and balance, just gotta hope for good blocking. IF Geno doesn't pan out we have Bryce Petty (another move i really liked) and a veteran to play while Petty grooms (if Geno fails). Another thing to love about Mac is what he did for Bowles. He gave a defensive coach a damn dream team on that side of the ball. I trust Leo Williams will pan out, esp. knowing Mac played some part in scouting JJ Watt (and maybe Mario williams im not sure?) So he knows a once in a decade DL when he see's one...not to mention we already have two of them (arguably). That's just flat out unfair for opponents. We have so much depth in our defense now that Todd should be able to find ways to make anything in his damn playbook on defense work to perfection. If one guy can't do something well there is plenty of others that may... and thats up front, LB, and DB's. I salute Magic Mike! This team should give this league fits for at LEAST the next 3-5 years...
Me thinks you are probably right. Typical for the Jets, a day late and a dollar short. Hopefully, the worm is turning now.
You overlooked his inability to count - We drafted 6 players Leonard Williams / Devin Smith / Lorenzo Mauldin / Bryce Petty / Jarvis Harrison & Deon Simon & Traded for 3 Zac Stacy / Brandon Marshall & DeVier Posey. 6+3=9
Lol WHAT?! Petty won't even play.. Stacey probably fights for 3rd on the depth chart... Mauldin has a good chance to take Calvin Pace's spot very soon, should for sure be in rotation.. Devin Smith is going to be a huge decoy for us and going to take the top off of defenses for our spread to prosper. Jarvis Harrison was a 2-3rd round talent that we snagged in the 5th.. he had issues being on time a lot though. He could see the field our OL depth is thin and he can play guard or tackle just as well..
I was watching NFL live on ESPN and they had a one on one tournament to see which team had the best draft. McShay and Kiper Jr were among the judges and it was consensus that the NY Jets had this years best draft by far exceeding second place Seattle Sea hawks. How's that for a rookie GM? Normally we are in the bottom.
