I'd like to remind everyone that our current receiving corp is just as deep as it was during the playoffs last year, and that we started last season with Cotch as our #1.

Exactly. Edwards/Cotchery/Smith is better than Cotchery/Smith/Stuckey/Clowney.

The last Hard Knocks revealed Woodhead as being used for receiver during the last cuts. That kid can do it all. So the receivers are deep enough to last though the suspensions.
    Edwards/Cotchery/Smith/Woodhead + RB's out the backfield.

Yeah, he would be. Hopefully Rex can get him to reconsider, he could def be useful in weeks 2-4 until Holmes returns from suspension, but I don't know if its going to happen. If you look at it from his perspective, he comes in basically to be the #3 receiver for 3 games. Then he plays as a 4th receiver, where the Jets hardly go out of 5 receiver sets, b/c I doubt he gets on the field when there is Cotch, Edwards, Holmes and Keller available. I can understand him not wanting to come back on a game by game basis as an 11 year vet, playing sparingly.

Keller, LT, Woodhead, Cumberland all can line up in the slot

Keller will be used as more of a big WR in 2 TE sets. I am convinced of this. If we go 4-2 before Santonio comes back I'll be happy.

For the life of me I can't understand why only a few people are even mentioning Dustin Keller. After Edwards, Keller is going to have the most receptions on the team until Holmes joins the squad.

In order of # of receptions through the first 4 weeks:

    Edwards
    Keller
    Cotchery
    Tomlinson
    Smith
    Woodhead

I expect Smith and Woodhead to have maybe 3 combined over that span. By the end of the year, you can keep the same list and simply slide Holmes' name in between Edwards and Keller.

I've said all along that this team is going to pass more than expected, but how many passes do people honestly believe Sanchez is going to be told/allowed to throw? We're still a ground-based team people.

Yeah, the Jets can always go double tight end with Keller and Hartsock, and that amounts to three receivers. Or three wideouts (B Smith) and Keller, which is like four.

Why does everybody put cotchery so far down the list? He is easily the most reliable receiver we have, the more we get the ball to him and Keller, the better off we'll be. Our receiving core is strong until week 4 and stellar after that. I'm going to be pissed if cotchery doesn't get his touches this season, he is the epitome of ny jets football

Revis is considered a wide reciever, just only when the opposing QB is on the field.

Thats because there's no question about Cotch, he's that solid. He's a reliable 3rd down target. Our concern is the 4th WR.

Brad Smith is no slouch either.
We will be fine, specially if our running game is clicking.

Probably because the thread was about WRs. Everyone knows Keller's going to have a big role in Holmes' absence, and he was mentioned by the people who pointed out our other non-WR options.

Sanchez is going to put it up close to 450 times this year.

INTS suck but aren't nearly that bad if they are way downfield. Specially with an awesome defense.

I think we will air it out MUCH more on the play action this year. Not so much dink and dunk.

I can see that with LT here, although I do wish we had brought Sanchez along more slowly last year. Big Ben, on a similar team, didn't hit 300 attempts until his 3rd year, and has only hit 450 3 out of 6 years, and 500 once.
