We have Richardson, Clowney, Feely, Dearth, Douglas and Sheppard that are UFA.

If any of them gets signed somewhere else we can replace them with an UFA for a contract up to the amount they get elsewhere.

Maybe they figure Feely signs for more?

Feely made $1.5 last year and Sharper made about $1.7 so he would be the only one I think would come close enough to making enough to cover what Sharper would want.

Edit: Lito was at $3 mil last year but not sure if he is going to command anything in that range

I would assume Sharper's looking for a significant pay raise considering he was one of the top safeties last season. 1.7 mil won't cover half his season, let alone the whole season. Just won a Championship and this could be his last major NFL contract. I really would like some of the drugs some of you apparently do. WE'RE not signing Darren fucking Sharper. I would be SHOCKED to see him on our roster come September.
Seeing the edit: Lito Sheppard was injured most of the year and usually got abused by whichever number 2 he had to cover. To say he's not going to get 3 mil next season woulds be the understatement of the week.

Im 100% for signing Sharper. He is a ball hawk, and can be a coach on the field. I would love to have him in our secondary.

I dont care how old he is, he is still producing and thats all that matters

We released/cut Lito so even if he signs somewhere I don't think we'd have $$$$ room to sign Sharper.

Some1 sign Jay Feely for a Mill, and give Sharper a mill. Then have Tanny meet him in the parking lot with a brown paper bag with 2 mill in it.

Yeh but TJ was only producing because he was running behind the best offensive line in the league.

In Kansas City he wont be nearly as effective.

Holy shit!! We released Sheppard, none of that matters!!! We can't sign a UFA because we released someone.

He is 35 years old, took almost a $3 mil pay cut the year before and should be happy to get something in the $1.5 mil range.

I am not saying he is coming here but I don't see how you think he can demand $3.5 mil or more. You might want some of the drugs I take. They help me think clearly.

That's the point. Even if Lito signs somewhere for 3mill we CUT him. which means we wouldn't have 3Mill to spend on a FA

You see what Kerry Rhodes made last season? This is Darren Sharper's last chance for a major contract. He won a Championship. He wants to get paid. Wouldn't you?? Someone's gonna offer him a huge contract, sorry.

There's no salary cap this season. That's why the to 8 rules are in effect this offseason.

Lito is still considered an UFA and was under contract to the Jets at the end of the year. I think they would be able to sign someone if he signs elsewhere.

Are you sure he was going to be an UFA? Why would we upright just release him if he was gonna walk in the 1st place?? I know he signed an extension a year or two before he left the Eagles.

They released him so they wouldn't have to pay a $10 mil roster bonus.

Ahh good quote. Thanks for showing me that. This whole final 4/8, and uncapped year shit is difficult to understand. Never really got into the 'business' side of the NFL until this year.
