Why would I be biased? I'm a Texas fan and I could care less about the Broncos. I have a Clemens avatar because I think he's our best shot at QB right now. If he can't cut it, then yes I'll be disappointing, but it is what it is. BTW, there are plenty of mediocre QBs who have put up good numbers when playing with a great offense. lol, I didn't "quickly change" my opinion. He definitely has good enough mobility; you're arguing semantics there. Overall, yes I think he's a good QB. I think he's way too inconsistent to gauge just how good he is or how great he could be and certainly to claim he's a 'proven' commodity. What he's proven is that he's got the physical ability to be a great NFL quarterback, but everyone knew that of him coming out of college. Right now I'd say he's just barely in the top ten.
Sure I think he's top 10, but he's still young and there are like 8 or 9 QBs I wouldn't hesitate to pick before him. Plus there are others like Big Ben, Rivers, Eli, Cassel, and Ryan that are comparable in some way or another.
90% chance based on what? Ratliff hasnt stared a game yet, Clemens had zero Wr's and a junk o-line. Even if our Dfense if one of the best that we have seen in a long time, we still need another WR, and Our D isnt the Ravens just yet. With Brady back, a tough schedule, you are thinking we are winning it all? By the way, it will take some time for the guys to pick up this new D Rex is installing, dont look for great things for a few games.
We are not saying Cutler is "great". We are saying he is far better right now than anyone on the Jets roster. You are slightly eskewed to your logic though. The Denver offense last year WAS Cutler. No running game, they were all injured. No defense, they were terrible. No Cutler would have equalled a 4 win season. And I haven't read anyone willing to give the house to get Cutler. Reasonable would suffice.
I would take Big Ben over Clemens any day, Rivers is better than both of them, he was top 3 in the afc. Rivers deserved a pro bowl as did Pennington this past season.
Put up your dukes had a segment that year showing how Clemens was affected by the porous line and how in some games with protection and time he was able to make his throws, while in others he danced around and got blasted or threw a pick.
