2 pass rushers and NA to replace Cro would be a dream come true. This defense would be so filthy if they can do that.
He said earlier that he would also play for the Packers, maybe he was trying to signal them by saying get rid of Bush and I'll wear 24 since Woodson already wears 21.
I wouldn't put anything past Tanny.....especially going after Aso. But, it will depend on how the CBA situation plays out.

If we can get Aso for ~7 million it's worth it, because I'm sure Cro will cost around that much. But let's get real, he got 30 million guaranteed over two years from Oakland is he really gonna accept a 50% pay cut?
of course he would. But only if the price is right. In an ideal world, he gets paid and he plays for the Jets. In the real world, he's going to get paid and play for some slap-dick team
he's not going to get a contract as ridiculous as the one Crazy Al gave him.....let's put that to rest right now. Someone will still overpay for him....but not by that same margin.
Of course, but the top CBs in recent years have all gotten contracts worth 10+ million a year (fuckin Nate Clements, Asante Samuel, Darrelle Revis) and the only guy on Aso's level is Revis. The Ravens could really use him and could offer him 5 years 50 million. Do the Jets have 10 million a year to give to another CB? That depends. If Cro wants that much money the Jets could say 'hey we need to keep Cro, we gave up a good draft pick for him...Aso costs as much why not just go for Aso?'
Cro would be alot cheaper but i like the idea of moving Nnamdi to safety but i doubt it happens though
All that did was put enough money in his bank that he can actually afford to pull a "Lebron" and take a pay cut to go play for a contender. I fully expect Aso to be on the Jets next season.
You sign them all to 2 million/year deals and have them find a mysterious bag of money in there back yard to cover the rest.
yes...as long as signing Aso doesn't restrict signing someone else. like if the choice is keeping harris, braylon, and holmes or getting aso + one of holmes/edwards + losing harris then I probably choose option 1. if I have to decide simply between edward or holmes vs aso then I choose aso. i'll keep one of the WR's and try and find one in the draft. good WR's are much easier to find.
No one knows what the new salary cap is going to look like after the dust settles with the new CBA this offseason, so it's hard to really debate how realistic or unrealistic signing Nnamdi would be. For all we know, they'll have a 5 year adjustment period installed into the new CBA that includes 2 capless years. It could go the opposite way, too.
Personally, I'm sick of the salary cap and revenue sharing. Small market teams have, in recent history, produced failure franchises - and the more money the NFL becomes accustomed to making in the big markets, the worse it has gotten. I'd rather they scrapped the cap for about a 10 year period to burn off some of those billions that they currently use to light their ceeegars, and to gain perspective on why they had the cap in the first place.
Peter King is reporting Nnamdi wants to go to the Jets. I cant post links but its on his twitter page... "Where are the most likely places you see Nnamdi ends up? ... Guesswork: Dall, Phil, Hou, NYJ longshot. Hear he wants Jets."
question is.....will he take a pay cut and sign a short term contract for a shot at a superbowl? it's risky, but he has money and desires rings. call me an optimist
