Have to admit, I wasn't aware of just how physical his game is. Knew he could cover and wasn't afraid to hit, but he was really sticking it in that video. Don't want to get too excited just yet...
We are the only team that matters Edit. Same about his tackling ability. He tears **** up in that video.
It looks more like a highlight reel from a safety than a cornerback. A world away from "Alcrotraz". EDIT - Ah, I've just seen Mr. E's response above. That explains it.
I didn't realize that shit until I saw the pics of him standing next to Revis. I met Revis once (I've said this before and I'll say it again, for the folks who say he's a dick because he'st trying to get paid. He stood while I swooned over him like a bitch, signed autographs (3) and took like 15 pictures of me with my kids (holding my kids and everything). Class act) and thought he was a decent sized dude, but next to Aso, it's crazy.
And he's remained physical enough that he can probably extend his career by moving back to safety in 5 or 6 years. I think some Jets fans have gotten so used to arguing that Revis is the best corner in football (which I believe he is, btw) that they've never actually stopped and examined what Asomugha does on the field. He's a fucking monster. The fact that quarterbacks literally stopped throwing the ball in his direction about 3 seasons ago really tells you all you need to know.
When Jenkins retired I told my girlfriend I need a new defensive active player jersey. Could it be ASOMUGHA!!!!!!!!! :breakdance:
e_man Erik Manassy “@JennyVrentas: Following up, Asomugha is ahead of Edwards on Jets priority list right now. But team has to make a decision on how to handle
NFL Network's Mike Lombardi on #Jets-Nnamdi Asomugha: "They're going to focus on that for at least the next 12 to 14 hours." Well, I'm gonna take a nap.
If we get Nmamdi, then I were Braylon, I'd sign for $500 bucks and a hand job to be on this fucking team.
Sb Nation reports that Nnamdi talks with Jets are getting serious! (Sbnation-dot-com/nfl) a/o 10:49AM!
On ESPN First Take they are discussing if Santonio Holmes signing was a good or bad move, based on the fact they believe it is impossible to sign Aso because of this move. Are they clueless idiots or are they on to something?
Wow. I didn't know that. No wonder I liked how he hit. He does hit like a truck. Physical corner - you have to LOVE them. That highlight reel won me over. I was so fed up with that pussy Cromartie. Now if Tanny can find a way to snag this one without breaking the bank, I'd jump the ship too.
