Someone just posted an article that said Pouha would be starting. Maybe it was a negotiation ploy as he just signed a four-year contract today, but I doubt it: http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2009/09/news_and_notes_from_practice.html I'll go get the article link, you got some proof for your assertion? edit: http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2009/09/news_and_notes_from_practice.html
Why would you feel sorry for me? Shaun Hill quietly racked up Top 10 fantasy numbers while he played last year and Arizona gave up the most passing TD's in the league. You'll be sorry you don't have him. He's my QB3.
+1. I have Brady and Warner as my 2 starting QB's but I have a flex spot where I currently have Schaub starting. I personally think he'll be fine against us, but I have Hill as well just in case.
This is the key injury in this game. I think Revis can handle Andre Johnson as well as any CB can handle him, which means he will contain him as much as possible. Without a real WR2, the Texans are going to have trouble passing on the Jets.
agreed, Lito can handle either a hamstrung Kevin Walter or their #3. I just worry about Owen Daniels lighting us up if Walter is missing....
im scared for all those quick, jump balls he will be throwing to andre all day. this is the worst matchup of the season for revis, at least he gets it away early.
I think the only way Revis has a bad day is if our pass rush stinks up the joint and Rex is forced to constantly blitz d-backs, or he doesn't and Shaub has all day to throw. Which is entirely possible.
Mario Williams is going to make Keller his bitch. I kind of feel bad that he's going to have to spend most of his time blocking this guy.
Do you mean Brick? I have a cautiously optimistic feeling that Williams will be contained. Brick's been coming along and I think it won't be Mario vs. Brick, it'll be Mario vs. Brick and T-Rich.
http ://blogs.nfl.com/2009/09/11/texans-schaub-probable-vs-jets/ Eugene Wilson out, Kevin Walter questionable and may miss the game. Schaub probable.
If the Jets are going to be wasting Keller's time having him block Mario Williams all day, then he's a real waste of a draft pick. More than likely, he's going to be the go-to target for Sanchez, if anything as a safety valve, so the key will be allowing him to get a clean release off the line. You bring in guys like Ben Hartsock to block. Keller is only nominally a tight end, and that's the way it should be. The guy is in there to create mismatches and open things up for the unproven wideouts we have, not to chip the defensive end. -X-
I know it's been said twice already, but I'll say it again. The Jets' won't have Dustin Keller blocking Mario Williams all day long. Hartsock and TRich will be helping Brick try to contain Super Mario. Keller is a receiver in the TE position. It would be as stupid as keeping Leon in the backfield to block Richard Seymour in week 2 last season.
They'll move Mario around... Also, We should be wanting the Strarting QB to start. The JETS have a Long History of getting skullfuked by backup QB's!
Brick gave up 4 sacks all year long last year............... Mario Williams is going to be moved all over the place. He will be especially lined up against Woody and a TE to create mismatchs which is obviously any DC's goal. I know Brick is a bust in the mind of our truly brain dead, idiot, stroke victim fans but nothing can be further from ther truth. He is a fine is pass protecter.
I agree with everything you said, but Williams is a friggen beast. I wouldn't be surprised if he gave D'Brick some trouble.
Mario Williams is probably the gold standard of 4-3 De's right now. One of those freak of nature players. Of course he is going to give Brick some trouble. Not a doubt in my mind. That being said the reverse is true as well........... (the trouble part, Brick is not the gold standard for LT's) Brick was certainly an elite pass blocker last year. He has improved every year, hopefully that will continue as this should be a breakout year if that trend continues. Like it or not he has become a better player than some names the haters frequently toss about as better than him......... McNeil- who was awful last year, pro bowl or no bowl bowl. Peters- see McNeil, shit he was even better than Thomas too.
Funny when a few years ago the shock that came along with the Mario Williams selection (myself included... saying wtf?) Casserly must be thinking F- all of you guys every sunday.:shit:
