Its is mandatory were I live as well but you don't have to wear motorcycle helmets. Who do you thinks gets these laws passed, insurance companies. If you get in a motorcycle accident with a helmet on you get alot of injuries without one you die, it is cheaper for the insurance company thats why cars are the oppisite. No seatbelt lots of damage, seatbelt less damage less money paid out by insurance companies. I am not sure were I read this but after I wake up will find the page and post the link. Anyway there is almost no one who doesn't wear their seat belt sometimes, especially if they are just running to the market or something close to the house but that is were most accidents happen.
Believe what you want to believe but stupid is as stupid does & nobody should be making any excuses for Houston stupidity
Its a freaking seatbelt he didnt beat his wife, get caught with drugs or ass fuck a kid at sunday school - (sorry wrong topic, that was my priest)
well good to hear that he is doing ok, even though the injuries are not life threatning this isn't good news for the ones that want houston to play significantly. For my money I want marroney at #29 because i don't want to see one of our afc rivals land him. williams @4 and marroney @29. I would cream my pants if we did that with our 1st 2 picks.
67 He incase I miss my pick - I am realy fucked up right now and headed into bed these are the guys I want I sent pm
That's why I have 5% tint on my windows and 15% tint on my winshield... Yeah it's illegal, but you almost never get caught...Unless the cop is like having a slow slow day and just wants to get someone.
Same thing here in Tampa. But they can't see me with the tint I have...So it works out. I see the commercials for click-it-or-ticket but just about everyone I know hasn't had a ticket for not wearing a seat-belt, I mean, you really gotta notice that from a distance or whatever...And you could easily be slick and click it on with them behind you...
The majority of the nation has click it or ticket laws in place now. It's a good law. As inconvenient as they are, they do save lives much more often than not. That said, he is foolish for not wearing one. Bet he won't make that mistake again. Who knows. Yeah, now he might miss the beginning of TC, but who knows? These are the kinds of life-changing events you read about in 10 years as the reason a guy has become a premier player in sports. So far, he has gone through the thyroid thing, and now this. Maybe he will come back and become the really good RB he was supposed to be pre-thyroid diagnosis. Anyway, when I saw the subject, I almost had a coronary. You never want to see something like that. I still remember reading about Derrick Thomas a few years back, and actually feeling a bit upset that the football world lost a great one.
The majority of the laws, if not all, I'm not sure, don't allow an officer to pull you over for just the seatbelt. They have to pull you over for another reason, then they can hit you with the fine for the belt. (Though you could get caught in a mandatory roadside checkpoint, and get popped that way too.) It really is better for you to wear the seatbelt. I hate wearing mine, but after almost going through a windshield myself, I realize just how much a seatbelt can save your life. (Not trying to preach, just saying...)
Everything you say maybe correct but it does not explain Houston stupidity for being unbelted or for you making excuses for him not wearing one. I would lay $$$$$$$ on it it has something to do with the NFL macho image thing
haha, yeah I'm sure that Houston felt like such a macho man when he decided not to buckle his seat belt. And you are aware that it IS possible to be flung from a car even if you are wearing a seat belt...
Injury aside, these news clips always make me laugh. My buddy's dad was a well known elected official, and when we went out recklessly carousing in our college days, we always used to joke how the news stories would read if we were in an accident:
If thats the case as you outlined Houston would have the lawsuit of the century against the maker of the auto.
yeah, you're right on, man. i'm sure Houston was flexing his muscles while ranting that he's too strong for seatbelts... all because he's a guy who plays in the NFL. give it up already. cheers
