Dude has at least 3 weeks of OTAs under his belt." now what i surmised out of that was that the guy didnt throw the ball on target in college, got drafted and is now not throwing it on target in shorts in otas. you seem to be dismissing that as if he isnt going to have aaron rodgers accuracy 3 weeks into otas. at which point i made the statement that not only was aaron rodgers throwing the ball on target 3 weeks into otas he was also doing it long before he became a pro. let me know what i missed.
Follow the conversation. Stokes is basically bragging about being right about Hack with his snarky hyperbolic comments. I called him out on it and Jay responded the way he did. The point is that Stokes is a) obviously a midget b) a dick celebrating his being right about Hack after 3 weeks of OTA's. All of which is great fun, but maybe we can wait longer than 3 weeks to celebrate how awesome we are at evaluating college QB's? ... especially when it's basically a fail for the Jets if the guy doesn't improve.

Yeah well I got jumped like a trampoline in an elementary schoolyard by a bunch of dudes who never saw him play for posting my honest opinions in the Hack threads. Sorry. _
99% of sports media is agenda driven and pretty much entirely lacking in true and objective football knowledge or insight which is why I ignore them completely. It wasn't always like this but quality sports journalism has been dead for a long time now. Based on my own modest research, film study, scouting reports, the prior opinions/assessments made by qualified NFL experts (like Gruden) and a reasonable measure of faith/confidence in the ability of our current staff of coaches and scouting personnel to make competent evaluations/projections of a player's talent, ability and potential for future success, I am guardedly optimistic that Hack will develop into a quality starter in the future. He has all the tools to succeed at a high level and, in my humble opinion, the potential (remote as that may appear to be now) to reach elite status. I have no concerns about any of the past or recent so called accuracy issues for which there have been countless justifiable explanations where they were in fact applicable or relevant. He's a very intelligent, big, strong armed, durable, tough, high character kid with good speed for his size as well as proven leadership qualities. The only reservation I have about him lies with his mentality as a player. Will he be a fearless gunslinger in the mode of players like Rothlisberger, Favre and Marino or might he end up as a talented but an excessively risk averse sack dummy like Kenny O'Brien? That question won't likely be answered for quite a while but my gut feeling is that he'll be a QB in the mold (both in terms of demeanor and performance-wise) of Eli Manning and Joe Flacco. And, if that is what we ultimately end up with by virtue of either good scouting, dumb luck or by divine decree of the Football Gods, I, for one, would be most grateful and satisfied. As always, time will tell. But in the considerable meantime, rather than whimper and whine with the vast multitude of pessimists and self-proclaimed, know-it-all experts blathering that Hack is or will be a bust a la Browning Nagle, I prefer to be of positive spirit, hope and optimism that, until proven otherwise, the Hackman will be the true franchise quarterback we've so sorely missed out on for such a long, long time.

stokes isnt celebrating anything... he is making light of all the sunshiners who cant fathom that hackenberg might actually have some accuracy issues and that not all of his problems are due to the myriad of excuses made for him.
