You do digress. Many alleged fans in here have no standards due to their willingness to accept and endorse the stupid moves this FO makes no matter who is in charge.
Sorry, I did not know you were the Ultimate Jets fan. So by your logic, if we do not agree with you, we have no standars and are "pretend" Jets fans...
This "Fleming" douche must be in love with Ira, he talks about him all the time. Him and the Dolphins.
Threads like this are getting extra-audinarily old. Abe is gone; we got something reasonable for him, and we move on..........period. Have you ever managed or tried to manage whiners; it sucks.
considering the circumstances, I think the FO did the best they could. Abraham is better than the draft pick he was traded for, but at the same time his trade value wasn't high enough to expect more
Usless 29th Means that we are not likely to draft a Pro bowler at number 29, so that is not equal value.I really do not see who we could draft at 29 who could change games, Mario Willims is not going to be there. All those sacks, fumbles, fumble recoveries now reside in atlanta, together with the drinking and injuries. AT 29 we will not get a game breaker or game changer, maybe we might get a starter or a contributor, but will you ever trade a pro bowler for just a starter or a contributor?
I think you posted in the wrong thread...but, we could grab Mario at 4 and than grab Mangold at 29...sounds pretty good to me...
That makes no sense. By the same token ANYONE taken after 29th will not be a probowler either. Look at the players who made the Pro-Bowl the past ten years, how many were taken BEFORE number 29? Wasn't Brady a sixth round pick? Lets see without comp picks, there will be a total of, 7 x 32, 224 players drafted. So by your logic, 195 players have no chance of making the pro-bowl or being good players. Why even bother having a draft after the first round then?
No game breakers available? Just a few random guys. 2006 - Lofi Tatupi #45, Heath Miller, #30. Logan Mankins #32 2005 - Kevin Jones #30, Rashaun Wood #31, Ben Watson #32 Chris Snee #34 I'm glad that the draft isnt 27 picks long or else The Broncos never would have been able to draft Clinton Portis at #51, the Saints wouldnt have gotten LeCharles Bentley at #45. There is plenty of talent and game breakers at #29 and after.
I want to know how we got hosed, because just by tagging him we got a first round draft pick for him. If we didn't tag him we would have gotten nothing. I am very happy with a first round pick.
Hosed???..you are a fool. The people who got hosed were SF 49ers fans, whose FO decided NOT to franchise tag Julian Peterson. I'm confident that Seattle would have traded for Peterson with SF and offered no worse than a #2 (and maybe that #31 pick) once they realized that they were not getting Abraham. Instead SF got NOTHING. Now that's a FO worthy of criticism.
Rashaun Woods has been a complete bust. You mention 2 Patriot drafts picks and a Steeler and Seahawk choice. Last time I looked their FO's are far more accomplished and experienced than Tannenbaum and Co. Give me a name of a pass rusher who can replace Abe from the list of top 32 or 64 prospects? This post must have been composed by the real Greg Buttle b/c it lacks any logic or factual basis.
