Yeah, let's be serious, getting rid of Holmes would be pretty stupid at this point. We basically can't cut him because of all the dead money we would accrue and then we can't really trade him since all of this drama came to light.

The only reason Pittsburgh traded him away was for his drug violations, otherwise he would still be a Steeler. They had the guys on the team who could keep him in line, we got rid of all those guys on the offseason.

Tannenbaum really screwed up when assembling this year's team and it's an egregious error that should make his seat warm. There's no reason to give Holmes all the money you gave him if you're not going to design plays around him. The guy wasn't a focal point of the offense, hell to be honest the receivers on this team barely did shit.

We can keep using Holmes as a scapegoat, which now seems to be happening, or we can accept that our offense isn't built to be successful, our playcaller is inept, and our QB is shellshocked and needs to re-learn the position.

For 6 years we have had the most unprepared offense in the league, and the only time we actually had a good offense was under Favre and they basically threw out most of the playbook that year.

so undermining the entire operation was the way to go about it? yeah ok try that at your work one of these days and see how well that works.

he undermined everyone, he dogged it for weeks. he acted like a complete douche and THEN he quit on the entire team officially with 2 minutes left and them driving down the field.

yeah fuck that noise this guy is a piece of garbage.

I agree that Schotty was not designing plays to capitalize on Holmes strengths. But, there is no way Holmes is being scapegoated here. He has acted completely unprofessional for any player and a Captain no less.

If you are unsatisfied with the way things are panning out you go and talk to the coach in person and not through the media. You do not call out of the offensive line. You don't act like a buffoon in the endzone when you're team is struggling to beat the Eagles.

Is Holmes the reason the Jets had a mediocre season, no of course not. But, he is hated player right now, he is not respected and his presence can only be a detriment if he continues the same childish, behavior he has exhibited recently.

How are you going to make a statement that suggests the Steelers have the staff to keep him in line, yet, he got traded away because they couldn't keep him in line with his weed problem?

You have no clue what you are talking about. How can you make such a bold statement when you have no idea what all reasons the Steelers had when they decided to get rid of him.

Do you really think that his attitude just started this season? No.

He has been like this since college. He acted a fool when he was a Buckeye. This is a very immature person, a me first individual.

It was a mistake giving him that contract.

Believe it or not I HAVE done it at work, I did it once, I felt strongly in my mind and heart that we were using our resources in a way they were not intended for, I respectfully told my team I was not having any part of it and stood by.

Guess what happened? I still have my job and there were adjustments made because one guy had the courage to say No, what we are doing is not correct.

I did not say Holmes was right, my point is that he has a love for the game and winning just like everyone out there, maybe he is so tired of the nonsense that he can't hold back, that is all.
