You've gotta try to sign him if you can. I understand if it isn't financially possible, but he's certainly a guy I'd want on the field if possible.
WR is the most overrated postition and the most easiest to replace. Year after year we see recievers come up from no where and become a star like its nothing.
That must be why, out of the Top 10 receivers in the league this year, 7 were 1st rounders. The other 3 were a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th rounder. Going further, you have one undrafted guy in the Top 20, and 2 7th rounders. No one else lower than a 4th, and there's only one more of those. Want to try the same thing with running backs?
I hope they do too- as long as it's less than 11-12 Million per year on average between the two guys. Anything more than that will not be the best investment our front office could make.
The least you could do is be honest as to your reasons. You don't want money taken away from the great penis resigning.
Well, if it was only that simple, we would never lose any of our guys would we? I'd love to have him back... at 5-7 Million Dollars, as I said. Would you be happy if we signed him to 10 million per year contract? I'm sure that's what he's looking for based on some recent WR contracts.
We'll see how things shake out in the next few weeks/months- obviously the free agent market isn't set just yet. In theory, I think the Jets would be much better off spending 8+ million on any position on D other than Safety, or at Guard or RT.
